Doctor Who S2 Episodes 7+9! (Patreon Exclusive)

Nothing could have prepared me to meet Satan in this show...

In this video I'm reacting to the episodes "The Idiots Lantern", "The Impossible World" and "The Satan Pit"

I really enjoyed watching these reactions. I haven't watched these episodes in a long time and completely forgot them. Also forgot how scary these ones are for me. And seeing rose and the doctor reunite here made me so happy and gave me all the good feelings. They are so cute together.

33:01 the really unfortunate thing about this is that I'm pretty sure that aunt is joking. the dad is clearly not

Glad you liked the ood, one of my favourite dr who species - no spoilers but there is a great ood episode in tenants run that will expand their lore extremely well!

Dieter Hornach

Morgan Reacts

A great reaction to some pretty intense episodes!

The writer of The Idiot’s Lantern is Mark Gatiss, he has a truly unfortunate nostalgia problem and is far too obsessed with the “good old days”

Woo! Enjoyed the hell out of watching you react to this :) The emotional charge Doctor Who can get up to is crazy sometimes, and it's a blast experiencing it with you :)

I might gonna skip the next DW reaction (the first episode at least). I will elaborate on it later, but the long and short of it is: I refuse to rewatch it or watch reactions to it not because it is scary per say, but because it is just so, so bad. Anyone who has seen it can agree on this one.

Yes, love the Ood. They definitely deserved better than they got. ...though I can't unsee them looking like someone trying to eat way too many noodles at once.

Now might be as good a moment as any to mention that Queen Elizabeth II was a Doctor Who fan ^^

The Idiot's Lantern - "I don't know how it is in the UK, but in the US..." - I'm afraid it was much the same. - Seeing you so in sync with the Doctor's thinking makes me wonder how you'd do as a companion :p. - "You are staring into a deep dark pit of trouble..." - this insignificant petty little man has no idea how close he came to the vengeance of the ancient Oncoming Storm that can tilt the universe. - "Is this actual footage?" - Sure is. - Never noticed the TV was trying to eat the dog's face too. - Orange squash, Victoria sponge - the food from the street party is something nearly every UK kid will be familiar with. - I did think this would be the most triggering episode. The things you've described your dad doing sounded terrible, but you also so easily laugh at him. Me, I have a never-ending well of burning resentment towards mine. I did have a touch of sympathy for this dad character as WW2 PTSD was such a thing. The Impossible Planet - This two-parter is heavily inspired by the author HP Lovecraft. Lovecraft pioneered the "Lovecraftian horror" or "cosmic horror" genre. Creatures with tentacle faces, supernatural psychological attacks picking at your sanity, lost buried civilisations, and ancient evil gods with schemes that relegate mankind to unwitting pawns are all hallmarks of the genre. - Some of the sound effects are deliberately taken from the Doom video game, whose story shares a degree of overlap with this one. - Zachary (the captain that gets hugged) starred alongside David Tennant in the TV miniseries Casanova. It was that show that earned David his role in Doctor Who as it was also written by Russell T Davies (Doctor Who showrunner). It's well worth a watch. - When you see Scooti floating dead in space, they filmed that bit underwater to get her hair floating like it would in zero-G. - "That's like saying this is going to be the best Christmas Walford's ever had." - Walford is the fictional setting of the soap opera Eastenders. Its Christmas episodes frequently feature disasters striking the cast. - There are some beautiful musical stings in these episodes, such as when the pit opens or when the Doctor embraces Rose at the end. The Satan Pit - Yep, that was the actual Devil, or as near to it as the show allows ("the truth behind the myth"?), belonging to a pantheon of known gods in the Whoniverse that have shown up over the decades. - Having encountered via Hazbin Hotel so many Americans who have been so traumatised by religion that any demonic imagery gives an aversion reflex, I wondered how they handled this. - I like the Doctor and Ida's quiet contemplation of the nature of belief, impulse, and discovery contrasted with the action going on with the others.  - Good props with the spacesuits, the Sanctuary base. Far beyond that cobbled together Red Dwarf style of sci-fi base we saw used in Season 1's TV Space Station. - "I refuse to believe Rose is just a passive victim" is such a rare message for a female sidekick character.

I just want you to know this.... Don't let anybody put you in no box, Morgan! Be authentic! Don't let them make you be the sheep, be the WOLF! Amongst the ants in this world 😤

I remember watching the impossible planet and satans pit with my aunt and uncle as a kid and it gave me nightmares for weeks. Because of this it’s one pf the few episodes that have stuck with me forever in great detail

jeremiah

idiots lantern is a fun episode but the ending is gross, fk the dad that part runs the entire episode for me especially if you pay attention to the subtext that tommy is gay (mummies boy was often a derogatory term against young gay kids and those who didn't care for stuff like football or manual labour) with that reading the dad and tommies aunt? where openly saying they would beat the gay out of him.

15:00 into the reaction, David Tennant is on FIRE this episode🤩 "There is no power on Earth that can stop me!" The Doctor gets really serious when it comes to protecting the people he cares about! 1:17:20, I don't know what to tell you. "The beast will rise from the Pit and challenge God" or something like that. The Ood are strange. I'll tell ya that much. 1:27:10, yeah. They're treating the Ood like slaves. And they're not even nice or thanks them for doing the hard work! I'm like Rose. I'm a Friend of the Ood 1:59:50 "That's the Devil's work. Or a good psychologist." 😂😂😂. Way to make laugh in a terrifying situation Doctor 2:13:45, YES, he is still possessed!! 🤯🤯🤯 2:19:50 really bringing in the Hellaverse in this one, aren't we, Morgan😏? 2:21:50, yup. That was REALLY bad timing of the Doctor to let go of the freaking rope! 2:28:31, your face upon realizing that Satan figure... That's the correct reaction to that! I believe so, because I did the same face, when I watched this episode😂 2:31:34, "You escape you die! BRILLIANT!" 🤣👏🏽 2:34:52, I CAN'T WITH THAT FACE🤣🤣🤣!! HIS AND YOURS🤣🤣🤣 2:39:54, I don't know. Could that thing predict the future, or was it just trying to scare Rose? Guess we'll find out. It was right about the others, but that sounded like it was in their past, NOT the future! After the reaction: Morgan, could you please tell me, how many episodes are left of this season? Also, I clearly enjoyed this reaction, as always😊. See ya next Saturday for more Doctor Who
