Hi, This is muchi.

It can feel both flattering and a little bewildering when something that’s been familiar to you all your life is suddenly praised as something amazing.

The other day, I was surprised to see a long line of international tourists at a small local rice ball shop near my home. Come to think of it, I might’ve once recommended it as “the place to go if you want real onigiri”… but I never imagined it would actually become that popular! Honestly, this shop is kind of a hidden gem, so I wonder if it was featured somewhere. In any case, they made a great choice!🍙

Onigiri itself seems to be pretty popular lately. Things that are completely ordinary to us—like convenience store sweets, for example—often turn out to be fascinating from a foreign perspective. It’s fun to see what catches people’s attention.

I'm sure in other countries too, there must be local things that tourists flock to—making the locals wonder, “Why that?” Or places where the locals think, “Wow, this traveler knows their stuff!”

Maybe it’s just because I recently visited Expo again, but lately I keep thinking about things like this.

Still… what gets the most attention might just be erotic manga…?

I mean, wouldn’t that be nice? 😂
