not sure if the bangs are throwing it off, but it seems her eyes might be higher than just standard deviation. Though it could be the angle causing that.... no, her eyes are where her eyebrows would ordinarily be.

i agree with you. i think when using my "wooden" models or even my more rendered models i can try a simpler approach. go down to the "stick figure" instead of copying the "volumes" hinted at by the model since i really just want to keep my proportions correct

I'm in no way a master, but since you use a 3d basis for 2d drawings you might still get some pointers from people that are used to making 3d art that looks somewhat good with a fixed 2d camera <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDlbJdmo7KE" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDlbJdmo7KE</a>

I'd say the problem here is the fact that you are trying to use a 3d reference for a 2d drawing and you're not accounting for subjective perception difference when simplifying the sketch. The angle is non-canonical, so normal art rules do not apply, but you're also using a non human face which does still look somewhat human. So, in short, the problem is the left cheek (the one on the right side of the picture) make it a bit more gaunt and it should look right.
