I usually figure out colour schemes and background at the end of a production, but that had slowed down my colouring process. So in an effort to cut time, I got the colour and rough BG figured out in a test image. You can see the BG is still very sloppy, but it helps me make sort out how to make the characters stand out more.
Gotta love summer...
