Mini Mod - Homeless Shelter

Hey lovely Simmers. I know I create mods where you earn money and fame but I've decided to do something a likkle bit different.

I’m so excited to share something incredibly close to my heart , the Homeless Shelter Mod!

This mod adds a fully functional Homeless Shelter system to your game, offering a safe space for Sims experiencing hard times, while also giving players meaningful gameplay centered on empathy, survival, and community care.

What's Included??

New Lot Trait

To activate the mod, add the new Homeless Shelter lot trait to any lot (a Generic lot is recommended). Once applied, the shelter will automatically begin functioning and spawn all the required NPCs.

Please make sure your lot has a Kitchen, Bathroom and some Beds at the minimum!

NPCs

Social Workers, Volunteers and Homeless Sims will spawn on the lot and each will have different interactions/roles.

Social Workers

 Once you have introduced yourself to the Social Worker, you will unlock new interactions!

 Help with Finances - Receive a one-time voucher in your inventory you can redeem for Simoleons. There's a cooldown, but you can request support again when needed.

Help with Housing - Unlocks the ability to apply for the Housing Program. If eligible, your Sim could receive over §15,000 in support to get back on their feet.

Help with Jobs - Grants access to the Temp Job Agency, where your Sim can take on short shifts with minimal pay, perfect for building experience and a little income.

Volunteers

Volunteers will automatically spawn to help around the shelter; cooking, cleaning, and occasionally socializing with residents. If they aren’t cooking on their own, you can click on them and choose “Order to Cook a Meal” to get things moving!

Homeless Sims

They’ll appear to make use of the shelter’s basic amenities; eating, sleeping, bathing, using the restroom, and watching TV for comfort.

Job Training

To improve their chances of qualifying for the Housing Program, your Sim can participate in job training at the shelter. This option is found under the Household menu and is only available while on the shelter lot.

Random Outreach Call

Sims with less than 10k Simoleons might get a call from the Social Worker checking in and asking if they need support

The next part of the Mod doesn't require the lot trait. This small feature is a personal mod of mine that I decided to add to the mod. I was getting tired of food just going to waste so with this, you can send meals to a Homeless Shelter and if you have Parenthood, it will increase your reputation a tiny bit each time you do it.

NPC Spawning

This mod is compatible with Kuttoe's Home Region! If you use any other NPC Spawning mod, you might find that some of the npcs mentioned above do not show up. If they don't, you simply need to adjust the settings in your NPC Spawning Mod.
