My day off...

Today, I decided to work with the Skin shader (Lola) bit more. It's quite funny, in 2D it's not so realistic, but in VR it is, like...super realistic. When learning new stuff, implementing it, I got her juggs and her butt having double amount of polygons for the runtime. FPS drops, nada. 

I can't understand why I didn't figure out this years ago. Same goes with the game engine with the linear skinning, meaning bend anything beyond 90 degrees, and the volume has a loss. Dumbass, me, I know now!

The second image, the left hand side, that's the quaternion skinning, too expensive for the game engines. The one on the right, how Unity shows it. So, I finally tackled this bigtime.

Yep, never ever my games have this issue anymore!

The skin pores don't follow proper anatomy on areas of the skin, giving a chicken skin look. Texturing XYZ have alphas and textures with diffuse lighting you can use to texture the model with more realistic normal mapping/specular mapping and diffuse mapping. I understand if it's not something you care too much about, I'm just mentioning it as something that could and would improve the visual fidelity of the models.

The FD3 Unity version is bit different, and going back is not easy. So, generally not going to do it, as it's a month or two for just this thing.

it looks very natural for my opinion!:) Can you somehow still use or insert this into your current FD3 project? By the way, your last upload was just awesome, I've never seen anything hotter, that actually tops almost everything ;) greetings

Have you looked into texturing XYZ for their alphas and diffuse lit textures, feel like some of these skin textures would really benefit from accurate skin pores.
