I enjoyed watching this movie with lot of fun actions going on and James Gunn did such a great job working on it. The elemental guy is called Metamorpho. He made his first appearance in The Brave and the Bold #57 in 1965, created by Bob Haney and Ramona Fradon. He can transmute his body into any element or combination of elements, allowing him to shapeshift his limbs, change his density, and become both solid and gaseous forms. In the original comics, Superman's Kryptonian parents Jor-El and Lara sent him to Earth to save his life because their planet Krypton was about to be destroyed by natural disaster. Their hope was that he would live freely and use his powers for good, helping humanity. They did not want him to rule or act like a god. In this movie, James Gunn made changes of Superman's origin story by making Superman's Kryptonian parents sent him to Earth with ambitions for him to dominate humanity and continue the Kryptonian legacy. At the beginning of this movie, Lex Luther summons Superman's fortress by using a clone of Superman known as Ultraman, created from Superman’s hair. This clone has essentially the same genetic/DNA signature as Superman, which allows it to trick the Fortress's Kryptonian biometric systems. Krypto the Superdog is generally depicted as a generic white dog or a labrador retriever in the comics and Krypto the Superdog animated series (2005). The breed of Krypto in this movie is a terrier mutt with some standard schnauzer likely mixed in. James Gunn chose to go with a different breed for Krypto, as he shared in a post on Threads that he was inspired by his own rambunctious dog, Ozu, who he calls a "straight-up mutt" that he adopted while writing the script for the film. The guy with the beard named Rick Flag is Rick Flag Sr. and he's the father of Rick Flag Jr. from DCEU's Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021). It's funny that Peacemaker made a cameo appearance in this movie. Peacemaker Season 1 is part of DCEU and since he appeared in this movie, this essentially signals his official place in the DCU. James Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 was rebooted to take place within the new DCU.
