Why I don't shade

This will be my last sort of personal post for awhile (I do realize I've been posting too many of these and I apologize for that, I just get carried away sometimes becasue I want this Patreon to be as good for you all as I can possibly make it), but I received some feedback saying it looks like I haven't evolved in the last 5 years and that I should be shading by now and that my art hasn't progressed at all...

Just to maybe defend myself slightly, not shading is something I intentionally do because I enjoy the look. It's a concept I got from older Disney animation (back when I wanted to be an animator) and it's a style I personally really like and I enjoy working with lines to try and add dimension versus shading...

I think both shaded and unshaded art is amazing and I think there's so many talented artists out there and that it's fun to have different styles and many artists I really like do both.

And I think variety is what makes having different artists and pieces to look at so cool. But idk, that may just be me, lol.

Thank you to those who have been kind and supportive, like I said I'll try not to post too many personal messages anymore, but this kind of felt like something to maybe address in case anyone expected any shaded characters in the future or for my style to change, I am trying to always improve my lines and faces and proportions and working towards improving in those ways, but I'm happy with my overall style and don't really plan to evolve it much because it's...how I enjoy drawing.
