Or try my best too :) Please don't get discouraged if your request isn't super popular.. we do randomly select one almost every week to give every request a fighting chance :)

2021-11-22 17:47:49 +0000 UTCPerhaps an unpopular opinion: Should you watch Spirited Away, the English dub is perfectly fine. It's how I saw the movie, and it's well done. I know people will insist that you're not getting the "original performances" of the actors with dubs, but this isn't live action. Additionally, it's not like with traditional American animation where they record the voices first, then base the animation on the performances. With these movies, they did the animation first, then overdubbed the actors afterwards. So it's not like the American voices are inherently inferior to the Japanese ones, as there are no "original performances." They really took a lot of care when doing the English version of these Ghibli movies. This movie in particular was co-produced by Disney, and I assume Miyazaki himself approved of both versions.
