2021-09-26 06:54:40 +0000 UTCBatman Forever is the next one and it wasn't very well received. Personally, I don't think it's too bad but it's incredibly campy and put a lot of people off. As for the one after that (Batman and Robin), ignore it like the plague. It's regarded as one of the worst movies ever made and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone able to defend it.

2021-09-25 22:36:43 +0000 UTCBatman Forever is technically a sequel to Batman Returns, but instead of Tim Burton, the late Joel Schumacher directed it and Val Kilmer took over as Batman as Michael Burton didn't wanna play him again without Burton directing it. This movie did get a lot of backlash from parents because it was a little too racy and especially because of how gross and disturbing Penguin. No joke, McDonald's were selling Batman Returns toys for kids meal and parents were like "why is this freak of nature in our kids happy meals?"

I think Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny Devito both should have got oscar nominations for their roles as they really got into character. Definitely more dark and depressing than the first film, but really felt how the atmosphere for a Batman film should be.
