Batman 1989 | FULL AKIMA Reactions

what's funny is Nickelson took some pay for his role, be said for rest of his pay he would tale 2% off the back end of the movie.....in the end he made millions on that deal.

Si Señor.

I think the perfect Tim Burton film to react to would be MARS ATTACKS!, an underrated 1990s sci-fi B-movie. ;D

George Bean

I've seen this movie many times, and a lot of the imagery is perfect and iconic, and of course the music has always been fantastic but wow I don't remember there being so many boring parts. I've been unsure in the past, but now I'm pretty certain I absolutely like Batman Returns more. I did watch the reaction through at around 3:00am, so that may have had something to do with it. ;)

I'm bummed we never had more Michelle as Catwoman. She's the best movie version.

I hope you eventually get to the sequel, Batman Returns. Even though the '89 Batman was the more popular one, to me, "Returns" is far more interesting. (I would argue that it's also aged better.) That Tim Burton focus on cinematography and set design is on full display, to the point where it feels closer to fantasy than comic book/action, and the Danny Elfman score is gorgeous. The "Selina transformation" scene is movie magic.

catwoman and penguin are in batman returns which is pretty more dark than this one

Jack Nicholson is probably my favorite Joker. Really creeps me out when I was a kid and even now as an adult. Oh and Batman Returns is good too. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and Danny Devito as Penguin is AMAZING!

Definitely agree about Batman Returns. I thought Batman Forever was ok because it had some good moments and the soundtrack was good. I think the Storm Crew would still enjoy it. Batman and Robin went way over the top with the silliness, camp, and puns. Probably the worst film I ever saw in the movie theater.

still the best

CiviliNation

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. Hoping you watch Batman Returns at some point, it’s even better, Catwoman and Penguin are in that. But for the love of God, whatever you do, steer clear of Batman Forever & Batman and Robin. Those two films almost destroyed the Batman franchise.

Shehab Dawoud

I definitely prefer the Batman 89 to the Nolan films. I love the look and how stylized it is. Keaton is definitely my favorite Batman.

David Crabtree

You thought Catwoman and Penguin were in this one? Keep watching ;)

Daniel R

Definitely a classic and watched it several times growing up in the 90s. I might be in the minority but I enjoy the atmosphere here from the Tim Burton films more than the Christopher Nolan trilogy (which is still good as well). Got to follow this up with Batman Returns at some point. That's probably the most underrated Batman film.

Justin S.

I really do love this movie

Now this is a very GOOD surprise. Can't wait to watch it later today :)

Guilherme Zanettini

Michael Keaton is definitely my favorite Batman , Ben Affleck would definitely be second.

Anakin Starkiller

YES!!!! Such a fantastic surprise!

David Crabtree

You just made my day! I love this channel so much, much love to you and your family! Gonna have some fun with this one, hope you do Batman Returns too! It's like the perfect Tim Burton movie lol

Daniel R

My favorite Joker! Nicholson is a legend.

RX2904

Thanks so much for finally reacting to this! This is such a classic and fun movie. Nicholson and Keaton are both amazing in this and it’s easily one of the best live action Batman movies ever made rivaled only by the Dark Knight and maybe Batman Begins in my opinion.
