Totally weird suggestion but how about the 1998 recording of Cats. I recently got into Cats, the musical not the lame 2019 movie, because of one of my favorite channels Sideways. It is totally weird but the fun kind and I think it would be a real hoot for you three.

SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER (1993): I thought it would be a nice change of pace after watching stuff like “KICK-ASS." Lovely family movie loosely based on the life of a young chess prodigy. You’ll recognize a very young Lawrence Fishburne, and it has a fantastic score by James Horner. 12 MONKEYS: Sci-fi movie with Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis. Terry Gilliam’s grungy aesthetic paired with a complex plot and some really good characters. I really appreciate how the central relationship in this evolves over the course of the story. FEARLESS: This is the 1993 drama starring Jeff Bridges and Rosie Perez (not the 2006 Jet li action movie). It’s a straight up character drama, and will probably be the most “low key” movie you’ve watched on this channel. It’s about a man who survives a plane crash and develops a sort of Messiah complex as a result. If it sounds boring, or overly “heavy,” I don’t think it is. 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016): I’ve requested this many times, and always added the caveat that this is a standalone story. Not only is the story unrelated to the 2008 found footage movie simply titled “Cloverfield," but I would argue it makes for a better viewing experience if you do NOT watch the 2008 movie first, as that would taint your expectations on where “Lane’s” plot might go. I would call Lane a thriller. It’s about a young woman who gets in a car crash and wakes up a seeming prisoner in a bomb shelter, kept there by a scary John Goodman who claims to have saved her life.

A couple of shows that have zaney popular comedians who have branched out into more serious well written shows that were really well done. Stranger than Fiction with Will Ferrell. He's a man so boring he counts each stroke of his tooth brush. Then he starts hearing his life being narrated by a strange voice. To top that off, the voice suddenly announces he will die as some point in his story. It's really good. Both of these shows are slow starters, but big feels by the end. Second, the Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Ben Stiller stars in this with Kristen Wiig from SNL. He's a man who only sees action in his day dreams, which have recently included a certain new employee at the company he works at, Life Magazine. He's in charge of the photos for the magazine and has lost it's most valuable photo sent in by their legendary photographer. His life goes from the action of day dreams to reality in a hunt for that photo. It's slower than Stranger than Fiction in my opinion, but it has plenty of surprising elements, feels, and amazing scenic views. Plus an epic battle with the man in the beard. You'll have to watch it to get that one. Might as well toss in Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Might be ancient, but it is always funny and still pretty amazing visuals even by today's standards.

I also think that you guys should consider the idea of having a poll with one movie of each genre, ie. one comedy, one drama, etc. Or you could do polls with movies of one specific genre and then spread that out over the month. So the first week there could be a comedy poll & an action poll. Following week could be thriller and horror, and so on.
