The Matrix Reloaded | FULL AKIMA Reactions

The Matrix is back! I loved the first movie so much! It was huge when I was growing up! I think this concept is a little hard for Mom and Kim to truly understand, but it seemed like they had fun watching anyway!

The Matrix Reloaded | FULL AKIMA Reactions

As philosophically rich as this film is - the crux of the plot through the screenplay and dialogue alone, is SO intellectually subdued to the point that the average movie goer (aka. you guys) will most likely be lost on it's main focus - ESPECIALLY from the Architect's exposition and beyond. I mean you GOTTA CONCENTRATE on that shit and I solute you Akima for really sticking to it as much as you could! Though you guys, through the post-movie discussion, seem to have grasped it pretty well! to my surprise (especially Kim!) Also, "This is Malware!" from Mum?!! L e g e n d a r y

Also, the short-haired redhead medic who talks to Trinity right at the end is Aussie actress Essie Davis who played Lady Crane in Game of Thrones, the actress Arya fails to assassinate in Season 6.

It must be Frock Coat Month for you guys, with Neo here, Grant Ward's current wardrobe (geddit?) choice in your recent Agents of Shield reaction and Elektra's hooded variant in the opening episode in Defenders.

Great explanation. I first saw this movie when I was 13 and I had no idea what was being said in that architect scene.

So, I don't think anyone watched this movie the first time and understood what was going on. And even now, after people have seen it multiple times, they're still debating a whole bunch of things. So, let me just break this down to the basics. The entire matrix is about control. The machines created it but it's never perfect. At least 1 percent of humans never accept it. This is why humans will eventually wake up and create Zion. So, this is basically a pattern. Humans will wake up, create Zion, the machines will destroy it, and the matrix will reset so that the pattern will start over again. This is all part of the plan the machines have. Once again, it's about control. This is also why the whole "you already made the choice" is being said. This is the sixth time this has happened. Neo and everyone else makes the same choice over and over again. The difference this time around is Trinity. Neo actually fell in love this time around which has never happened before. Thus, instead of following the pattern of resetting the matrix, he goes back. This is completely new and uncharted territory now. This explanation is very surface level but hopefully it gave you guys a chance to understand a movie that just flew over everyone's heads when it came out.

Fun fact: the agent, who jumped on the car and fought Morpheus on the truck, is Josef Terasov's bodyguard in John Wick. And the key maker is the doctor in John Wick.

Definitely curious about this one. This movie shifted in complexity for sure compared to the first

Not my favorite movie, but I'm quite looking forward to this reaction. Some movie recommendations: Clue, The Burbs, Batman '89, Rocky 3, Star Trek ll: The Wrath of Khan, The Rock, 13 Hours, Pearl Harbor, Warrior, Footloose (2011 remake), Dazed & Confused, Con Air, Face/Off, Karate Kid 2, Secret of My Success

Yes this one gets a bit more complex than the first, I remember my friends and I felt the same at the end of this one in at the cinema. But it's still a fun ride and some of the ideas relate a lot to today's world. So I'm glad Mum and Kim enjoyed too!
