MOVIE POLL- What will we watch next?!
Added 2020-10-19 18:41:08 +0000 UTCHappy October! We have Movie POLLS on Mondays!
Hope you all are doing well! We have gotten a ton of Halloween Requests and October is almost over! We are going to watch Ghostbusters 2 since we've been wanting to together since last year, LOL! Also, a few of you asked us to watch The Conjuring before the second one.. so I decided to add that here as well instead of skipping to the second. We aim to please everyone!
Requests that didn't make it in are probably on our LIST, but feel free to request again to bump them back to the top! I do keep track of all requests! Or try my best too :) Please don't get discouraged if your request isn't super popular.. we do randomly select one almost every week to give every request a fighting chance :)
Any trolling, do not engage. Let me know and I'll handle it. That person will be banned and then their VOTES will disappear. We want to keep this fair and fun.
Please give us a week or so so watch what WINS, edit and upload. :)
Thank you everyone for supporting us!

Rush Hour 2? No! Only the first one is worth it.

MovieFanatic
2020-10-23 21:17:07 +0000 UTCWe were supposed to have a sequel to Halloween titled Halloween Kills this year but was pushed back to next October so it would've been perfect to watch it this Halloween. I preferred to see a reaction to Halloween 2018 over Halloween 2 but love it all. Trick R Treat would be a good one to see a reaction to.

2020-10-23 08:34:54 +0000 UTCIt'd be nice to have at least one Horror/Spooky movie that isn't about a slasher. So far it's been two Michael Myers movies and Scream.
2020-10-23 07:22:23 +0000 UTCIt makes sense on a superficial level though (the dates are close.) Lumping Day Of The Dead with the Spooky month doesn't make sense otherwise. It's pretty disrespectful to do so IMO. It'd be like wanting to do Horror movies during August in Japan when they celebrate the Obon Festival - which unlike Halloween, is similar to Day Of The Dead as it's about remembering ancestors. We've already had so few spooky movies this month as is, I'd hate for Scream to be the last one. Coco literally has nothing remotely spooky about it for it to be a Spooky month movie. It's a movie about heritage and ancestry. To say, "oh there's skeleton make-up and stuff about dead people, so that's just like Halloween" is pretty insensitive of such a culturally different Holiday. That's my take any way and it won't really matter if it wins a poll. I just wanted Dawn and company to know that there's a difference before they slot it in as a movie that's in the spirit of Halloween.
2020-10-23 07:12:24 +0000 UTCJust wanted to point out that the holiday is celebrated 2 days after Halloween and there will be no poll & reaction between the two holidays so it would make sense to lump Coco into this.
Michael McGee
2020-10-23 04:07:33 +0000 UTCMaybe on Halloween Eve you guys can watch the Halloween 2018 sequel! I just know I'll be watching that reaction a few times! My fav reaction is for Terminator 2! Halloween 2018 would be my second!
☆C~H~A~N~D~L~E~R☆
2020-10-23 03:43:57 +0000 UTCI just want to point out for the benefit of the Storm Akima crew that Coco is NOT a Halloween movie. It's a Dia De Los Muertos (Day of The Dead) movie, which is a completely different type of Autumn Holiday, traditionally celebrated in November. Day of The Dead is more about celebrating life, especially in remembrance of family members/loved ones that have passed an that's exactly what Coco is all about; nothing at all related to the observation of the spooky, frightening and darkly unknown aspects of death and spiritual mischief (where dressing up as spirits out for mischief or harm unless appeased with goodies comes from - hence trick or treating) that is Halloween. I have to 2nd someone else's recommendation of Coraline as a better and more true Halloween animated Mom-friendly movie. Coraline is basically a classic dark-fairytale/ghost story that's as safe for kids (and Mom :) ) as it is spooky and creepy. 🎃👻
2020-10-23 01:48:16 +0000 UTCA Knights Tale!!!!
benjamin freeman
2020-10-23 01:08:30 +0000 UTCA holiday list, I really like that idea. That way it wouldn’t get out of the way of people who just want movies requested. 😊
Daryl
2020-10-22 23:06:33 +0000 UTCYes! I hope Coraline makes it to the next list. I’d vote for that!
Daryl
2020-10-22 23:04:23 +0000 UTCOoo, I'd definitely prefer that one over Coco as far as animated Halloweeny movies go. It's Mom friendly, but still genuinely spooky and creepy! Coco is really more a Day of The Dead movie, which is a Holiday and movie more about remembering and paying respects to deceased family members than anything Spooky or Halloweeny.
2020-10-22 12:16:05 +0000 UTCDunkirk, The Social Network, Heat (Al Pacino and De Niro), There Will Be Blood, Spotlight, Reservoir Dogs (Tarantino's first film!!!). Let's get some of these movies over mainstream blockbusters!!
Pinhead Larry
2020-10-22 11:45:25 +0000 UTCCoraline would be another cool one to watch!!! It's Stop motion animation which I'm sure storm will appreciate :) and it'll fit in nicely with the spooky season.
Mitsy
2020-10-22 06:11:16 +0000 UTCOnly the winner. The other movie they watch if they do 2 that week are random choices by Dawn, Kim and/or Mom. I PM'd them a suggestion to dedicate a 2nd poll to Holiday requests and make that the 2nd movie they watch, but got no response. I think it would've gotten in the way of the random choice stuff. Coco wasn't one of my favorite Pixar movies - I just thought the message was a little contradicting and not as well thought out as 99% of Pixar movie - but I can see why people are suggesting it for Halloween, even though it's a Day of The Dead holiday movie, which isn't traditionally celebrated until November. ;x
2020-10-22 05:29:08 +0000 UTCDo they only watch the top winner or the top two? You all need to watch Coco. This is the perfect time of year to watch it.
2020-10-21 22:43:34 +0000 UTCPlease react to Coco! It's a great family film that's perfect for this time of year. It isn't a halloween movie so much as a Day of the Dead movie and, in my opinion, it's tied for best Pixar along with Inside Out. You definitely would not regret watching it!

2020-10-21 19:07:24 +0000 UTCAs a non-big action movie fan, my favorite Jackie Chan movies outside of Rush Hour 1 & 2 would have to be Super Cop and Gorgeous (which is kind of a RomCom, but with Jackie Chan action! LOL I bet the Storm Akima crew would love it! :D)
2020-10-21 11:37:53 +0000 UTCI agree that it is too soon for a Cabin in the Woods reaction. It would be best if they watched a bit more of the classic horror movies, especially from the 80s beforehand. Interview with the Vampire was good but I think Bram Stroker's Dracula was the best Vampire movie ever, based on the performances, makeup, and story. Also, the original Fright Night is fun with a cool soundtrack and Near Dark is one that is definitely underrated. I'd say that John Carpenter's Vampires was one that could have been a lot better than what it was.
Justin S.
2020-10-21 09:38:43 +0000 UTCI haven't had any motivation recently to recommend anything, but, after watching your "Rush Hour" Reaction [there was something about it] I felt compelled: "Heat" (1995) "Hanna" (2011) "Birdman" (2014) "The Player" (1992) "Advantageous" (2015) "Trouble with the Curve" (2012) [this one in particular, I think y'all would really like]

2020-10-20 06:20:39 +0000 UTCHave they ever reacted to a romantic comedy? I don't think so. The time is now. 500 Days of Summer is the right way to go.

2020-10-20 05:20:00 +0000 UTCYes, Liar Liar is a great comedy. I would say it is up there with Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Mask, and Ace Ventura as Jim Carrey's best films.
Justin S.
2020-10-20 05:14:30 +0000 UTCPlease do Doctor Sleep, I’ve been waiting for that one since you reacted to The Shining!
2020-10-20 05:09:30 +0000 UTCClue would definitely be a fun reaction. I understand that they had released the film in theaters with 3 different endings and the theater was not told which ending they would receive. The "3rd" ending was my favorite although the 1st ending probably made the most logical sense. I heard that Ryan Reynolds is attempting to get a remake made in the near future. That is a rare case of when I would support a remake being greenlit. Tremors is definitely a classic in the horror/comedy genre. I have suggested Gremlins a few times which is in the same category and produced by Steven Spielberg. It is really just as good, if not better in my opinion. Arachnophobia came out the same year as Tremors and was also entertaining. I've actually never seen Monster House, and it seems like it would be an ideal Halloween family flick reaction.
Justin S.
2020-10-20 05:02:22 +0000 UTCI'll continue to advocate for Liar Liar, as you guys need more Jim Carrey on the channel! (Truman Show would be a good one too!) I didn't realize it before but you all would really love La La Land too. A really good time.

2020-10-20 03:41:29 +0000 UTCAmerican Psycho, The Omen, The Blair Witch Project,Hereditary, Midsommar, The Witch(2015), The Lighthouse, The Fly. Some more spooky suggestions as October is coming to a close.

Aljon Villaruel
2020-10-20 00:47:35 +0000 UTCMy usual non-spooky requests: My Girl 1991 Benny & Joon 1993 A League Of Their Own 1992 Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004 Spooky requests for the Spooky Month: The Craft 1996 The Exorcist III 1990 The Crow 1994 Session 9 - 2001 The Lost Boys 1987 Friday the 13th, Part 6 (the first meta horror movie that influenced Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream and also the one Friday that IMO feels like a real movie with good humor in the writing and genuine fun characters that are not just fodder for Jason) Rabid 1977 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 The Others 2001 And just to reiterate again of what I said in my previous comment, Interview with The Vampire really deserves more love. It's based on Anne Rice's book and there are no modern vamps without her! 🦇💜

2020-10-19 23:38:39 +0000 UTCCabin In The Woods, already? It's a great horror comedy, but I think with Scream already being watched now when the Storm Akima crew only having Michael Myers as their only reference point is us putting the cart before the horse enough lol. They haven't even seen any of the Evil Dead yet, the one to popularize the cabin in the woods setting. I think Storm and company would get the most out of these Horror meta movies - as anybody would - if they at least saw more of the popular/cult movies they reference and satire beforehand. EDIT: And aww... Interview with The Vampire has fewer votes than I thought it'd have. It's really the best Vampire movie ever made - whatever you may think of Twilight, the Vampires we know today really aren't a thing without Anne Rice's vampires and Interview is the best film adaptation of her books, she gave the movie her seal of approval herself! 🦇
2020-10-19 23:27:10 +0000 UTCSpy(2015) and She's the man(2006)! Both are lighthearted comedy :)

2020-10-19 22:55:02 +0000 UTCHi, Storm, I noticed you put At World's End in the poll. You guys already watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End so I'm guessing you meant to put The World's End as in the 2013 Edgar Wright movie. Just wanna point that out. Great choices this week!
2020-10-19 22:18:29 +0000 UTCV for Vendetta should only be watched on Nov 5 or watched early and put out on Nov 5.....wondering why? (You’ll see)
2020-10-19 22:05:50 +0000 UTCGood selection of movie choices and Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorite Disney mivies movies from the 90s. Free Willy is a classic family flick. It's been many years since I saw that. I'll have to include a list of good family movie suggestions in the next month or so. Anyway, here are 5 of my usual movie requests and 5 scary movie requests: The Long Kiss Goodnight (Geena, Davis, Samuel L. Jackson) Ransom (Mel Gibson, Gary Sinese) Breakdown (Kurt Russell) Dante's Peak (Pierce Brosnan) The Sum of All Fears (Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman) Scary Movie requests: Christine (1983) The Fly (1986) Child's Play (1988) The Relic (1997) The Ninth Gate (1999)
Justin S.
2020-10-19 21:54:32 +0000 UTCThose are all great choices. I actually requested Clue and Monster House yesterday as part of group of more lighthearted choices with that Halloween ambiance.
2020-10-19 21:46:00 +0000 UTCWell, you *can* vote for multiple movies. Though I'm not sure if that helps, since I'm not sure that runner-ups get any special consideration when the bonus reactions are chosen.
WastedPo
2020-10-19 21:12:05 +0000 UTCThough I’d still *love* reactions to ’10 CLOVERFIELD LANE’ and ‘THE OTHERS,’ those seem to have disappeared for now. So I was thinking maybe these Halloween-appropriate alternatives would strike the ladies’ fancy: CLUE (1985): Someone brought this up under a recent poll. Based on the classic board game. Really clever and silly farce-style script – more creative than the ‘Police Academy’ humor so popular at the time. There’s elements of mystery and (light) spookiness that make it vaguely Halloweeny. Even if you can’t get on the movie’s wavelength, it’s easy to admire ‘Clue’ for what it tries to do. TREMORS (1990): A fun horror/comedy set in the town of Perfection, Nevada. Directed by Ron Underwood, who also did the Billy Crystal movie ‘City Slickers.’ This one has a similarly light tone, despite being a “monster movie.” The locals keep disappearing and it’s up to the endearing cast of characters (which include Kevin Bacon, Reba McEntire and the young girl from Jurassic Park) to sort things out. Honestly, the movie executes its premise just about perfectly. MONSTER HOUSE (2006): Computer animated movie that literally takes place on Halloween. Produced by Robert Zemeckis and marketed as a throwback to 80s movies, with its premise of suburban kids taking on a supernatural foe.

2020-10-19 21:03:43 +0000 UTCIf you ever get around to it, i highly recommend True Romance! One of my favorite movies of the 90s
2020-10-19 21:02:48 +0000 UTCHow many times have you asked for that?
2020-10-19 21:00:08 +0000 UTCIt's hard when there are usually a few great movies. It'd be good if there was a second and third choice with lesser weighting just to give a greater chance for one of your movies to get chosen.
Aaron Barlow
2020-10-19 20:54:56 +0000 UTCSide note: Liar Liar is one of the funniest movies ever. I literally watch it 2 or 3 times a year and still laugh out loud. I voted for Rush Hour because I you all will love the sequel. But pleeeeeaassseee don't forget about Liar Liar.

2020-10-19 20:51:57 +0000 UTCI'll rotate that back to the top! It's amazing how many requests we get every week. That one was on here, but this is our last POLL for the Halloween movies (not including normal horror films).. so I wanted to give those one last go :)
