Yup! William is correct. Willis came right out and said it so its no spoiler for me to say that Diamondback is absolutely Luke's actual brother and, as Willis said to Luke in the theater, Willis set him up and that's why Luke went to prison. These two facts are meant to be the two big takeaways from this episode. On a tangential note, I freaking love how campy Diamondback/Willis is. His character is meant to be a thematic reference to the old style of "Blaxploitation" films of the 70s and 80s (the same era during which the original Luke Cage comics were published and a time period that many see as a golden age for Harlem's film/music/art culture), many of which were among the first big hits made by black directors. Films like Cotton Comes to Harlem (based on the Chester Himes novel Luke references early on in the season), Blazing Saddles, Trouble Man (the soundtrack for which was recorded by Marvin Gaye), Jackie Brown, Shaft (named dropped by Pop in the first episode), Cleopatra Jones (the look for whom helped to inspire the original look of Misty Knight in the comics with her kickass afro and the gun she's fond of holding in the same iconic pose), etc... In fact, Luke's yellow shirt, metal arm bands, and metal tiara that he was wearing after he escaped from Seagate Prison during the flashback earlier in the season were all part of his original comic book costume, and Luke Cage's look at the time is actually considered one of the most iconic examples of the Blaxploitation arts movement. Luke Cage's original comic name, "Power Man" (which you've heard a few times this season too) also sounds like its plucked right off a Blaxploitation film character list. The whole second half of the season is full on Blaxploitation campy goodness and I, for one, freaking loved it. And since the Blaxploitation movement was the first major explosion of black directed films onto the national and international scene, it seems extra appropriate that it would be used so heavily to guide the themes of Luke Cage, the debut of the first MCU project with an African American director/showrunner, Cheo Hodari Coker :D

Diamondback is not same guy that's was Luke's friend in prison, his friend from prison was Squabbles. They are two different characters, they aren't even the same actor.

Diamondback is the reason people don't like the show. You're right Storm, he's a weak villain compared to Cottonmouth. But his and Luke's connection is enough to carry the show to the end. Alot of WTF moments are still to come. Hang in there.

Love the horror movie vibe this one had(Kim freaking out is always fun😂) also diamondback isn’t the guy Luke was in prison with sorry to say he really is dead.
