Haunting of Hill House is a MAGNIFICENT and emotional and poignant series. It's not that scary, but there ARE a few jump scares, including one late in the series that is legendarily scary. If you want, Your Loyal Fans could provide a list of episodes and timecodes to mom (that you/Kim wouldn't be privy to) so she can steel herself for what might be coming. Overall, I would say it contains fewer jump scares than most horror which is good; I consider those to be low quality and cheap. But the the ones that are there are quality.

All of you are missing out so hard right now on Cobra Kai... a show I had no hopes for ended up being better than most shows on this poll, and it just got bought by Netflix. However; watching the Karate Kid movies should also be considered before, to enjoy it much better.

I recommend to everyone "Fringe". A WONDERFUL TV series (2008-2013, 100 episodes). A mix of sci-fi, comedy, romance, drama, etc. and it's not repetitive (J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are geniuses!!!).

Still holding out hope for Better Call Saul, I look forward to their in-depth conversations on these characters because imo the show gets way better than Breaking Bad. It's more relatable, and Saul is a better character than Walter lol

EVERY show on this list owes LOST it's ability to get created(well, except for maybe Rupaul lol). You should have more respect. Had the producers not taken the gamble and spent way more money than any other show to have an actual plane flown to the beach in Hawaii from Arizona(i think?) for an unproven original pilot not based on a book/movie/show and it be a huge success many shows would not be allowed to have so much money spent on them and what's more, continue with the budgets they have. Today's television owes LOST.

Agents of Shield has more episodes than Lost. The Netfix Marvel shows combined have more episodes than Lost. I agree the later seasons aren't as strong but most shows have good and not so good seasons.

I honestly don't like Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher. It could have been better paced and better scripted. But if it gets the gang into the franchise then I'm all for it.

Better Call Saul is a must! Trust when I say its as good as Breaking Bad...many say better! And LOST is a cultural phenomenon that you simply cannot miss out on...and its such a page turner! You will dread waiting between episodes.

Gotham is such an awesome unique show that flew under the radar for a lot of people but it is seriously one of the best comic book shows out there it got 5 seasons so it did something right

Gravity Falls (in my opinion) is one of the greatest cartoon TV shows in History. I highly recommend you watch it but I think its not gonna win since there is so many other good shows on that list.

"Heroes" would be great - though, probably not going to win.

Gonna have to disagree on Lost there :) I mean I completely understand people deciding to quit the show and losing interest on its mysteries, to each their own... but as someone who has watched that show maybe 40 times over and has been a fan since 15 years, I can confidentely say that almost every single mystery gets an answer, with only a few left to interpretation, which I think makes for great debates and discussions. Also the character work and the cast on that show is amazing, not to mention the soundtrack ! Again, totally get you not being a fan of the direction the show has taken, but I think the statement that you don't get answers is actually false and a waaaay too popular misconception about that show. Many shows on TV right now are more convoluted and strange than Lost, and yet are embraced because the taste of audiences evolved with time. My take on it at least :) I believe that show was ahead of its time, for the most part at least. I know it's not perfect, but the journey in my opinion is great enough to be worth a watch

Filller? Hell no. (I'll say this deliberately vague to not say any spoilers) A character who ended up as a leader in the end was shown to be the one to bring people together and a give the most times of happiness almost right from the get go. That kind of slow, gradual, unexpected character development is far from filler. Other than no cell phones, the show is timeless.

The Haunting of Hill House is an AMAZING DRAMA with scary ghost elements in it. So, while it does have a few jump scares (including one real humdinger!), it's such a good story, it kind of has less fright impact than just something that is pure horror. But seriously -- acting is 10/10, writing is 10/10, directing is 10/10. It's so much more than a ghost story. 👍👍👍👍👍 As for LOST, I was totally addicted to that show when it first aired, but it's not worth it past season 3. It's one of those that piles mystery on top of mystery and never actually gives answers to anything. I also love Outlander but LOTS of sex and LOTS of violence. Maybe not the best show to watch with family members... if you know what I mean... 😳 My suggestions are: Westworld Wonderfalls (quirky comedy, only 13 episodes) Les Revenants (French show, won all the awards, only season 1 is good, so 10 episodes) The Crown Battlestar Galactica (2003)

So many great shows! Better Call Saul, Ozark, Umbrella Academy and Watchmen!! All SO GOOD. I feel like Better Call Saul is almost essential after Breaking Bad though especially with the final season coming out next year

So much violent content on all these selections, and even though I am the biggest fan for it (when it's used alongside good writing), I would suggest something light heart, like The Office. I think Kim would enjoy it.
