Thanks for another great reaction. That made up my Friday evening. First, seeing your reaction to the first two parts of Survival, then watching the episodes of this and then seeing your reaction to said episodes! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it as I always see these spin offs as Dr Who without the Doctor, but we had Kate so it came a close second! I have to say I was quite impressed, I think the effects were stunning. I've always hoped with this species that they'd find a way to co-exist with humanity, though I think 'salt's' terms were a tad unrealistic. Not in terms of not polluting the Oceans/Rivers but in terms of banning humans from travelling across the sea by boat or plane. So I think right away that's on a collision course for failure! I like Barclay's charater as well. I think having an ordinary person representing humanity is a really cool touch. On watching this on BBC i-player, I couldn't help noticing this was listed as 'Season 1', so i'm guessing whatever happens in the coming episodes won't entirely get resolved? I'm looking forward to see how this pans out. See you next time!

2025-12-12 18:15:37 +0000 UTCStill haven't seen any of this, but I figured I'd mention we now have the ratings for these first two episodes, and they're a big improvement over Doctor Who itself for its last two seasons, possibly even something that could have saved its contract with Disney if the show came out a bit sooner. This goes against all typical knowledge of how these things are supposed to go, and has me feeling more optimistic than I have in a while if whoever takes over the franchise next (because let's face it, we all know RTD's out after next year) takes the hint about what people want. I already let Madam Morrible say my own thoughts on it and those haven't changed, but it's throwing a light to the future.
