Again, though I’ve not personally gone through the Alzheimer’s or dementia experience with loved ones, there is the caregiving aspect that does hit home. Just the way Picard has to help Sarek perform the Vulcan salute, that brought back some painful memories. Not to mention how part two of this has a few scenes with Spock that always were sad, and now they cut a lot deeper than when I saw them previously.

Yes, Jess. That scene with Patrick and Mark got to me too. My mother had dementia and I was her caregiver a long time.
