I would say that, out of all the Classic series companions, Jo Grant's faith in the Doctor would take some beating. She caused Azal the Daemon to short-circuit when he was about to kill the Doctor by attempting to sacrifice herself in his stead.

And Nicholas Parsons as Wainwright is one of those surprise perfectly cast guest-stars who is known for comedy, panel games or light entertainment who can really really act.
