There are the continued parallels between Sam and, I see you say the name “Jack”, and they are done very well. In this scenario, I lean more towards the Dean side of it, which speaks more to my having seen too many movies. For instance, when Kelly is so insistent that the Devil’s kid is good because he saved her, I’d say to her, “Ok, lady, we need to sit you down and have you rewatch The Omen Trilogy. I got the set on blu-ray.” Sam is a kinder soul about it, (No worries on the Sam bias by the way, it’s rather sweet actually.) and I do side with him of trying find the alternate plan rather than killing the baby. And he comes up with a pretty good plan. Castiel seems to have good energy with everyone, and here with Kelly again, that shines. Dean does have some good lines. Good note on the Gadreel line, where there is that tone of, “Yeah, of course I remember him, that whole mess was my fault, thank you so much for reminding me.” which because Dean is as tired and annoyed at the moment, and he and Sam are past that issue, it comes out as, “The psycho angel who took your body for a test drive? Yeah, what about him?” which as you say, is an on-brand line for Dean.

This is such a heavy, but phenomenal episode. It is so dark, but everything the story is telling is rich, and intriguing and powerful. The writing, and the performances just sell the hell out of it.
With regards to what you were saying about the baby, and whether it will be good, or bad, and what would be the right or wrong thing to do, I think it such a beautiful, subtle callback to the early seasons when we were dealing with this same thing with Sam. When you had Gordon Walker, and the other hunters, even the angels, convinced he was evil incarnate, a monster, something to be hunted and killed (even John Winchester said he had to be saved or killed). History is repeating itself here, with the war between fear and worry, and hope and faith. Sam, or this kid, both intricately tied to Lucifer, have the possibility of being a force of evil, of going dark side. But we also saw that in the end, Sam had the choice to be good. To defy destiny. So, no reason why the baby, with the right guidance and support , can't do the same. And speaking of Sam (cuz you know I have my Sam bias on fire this season lol), I just love how on top of his game he was this episode. Figuring out Kelly's pregnancy, coming up with the alternate plan for saving Kelly and her kid’s lives, I just love when the show lets us see how smart and resourceful Sam can be.
I also adored Cas and Kelly's twin arcs this episode, from alone and desperate and scared, to unified, together and faithful. Watching them come together over this child, each in a different way, was such a beautifully done story.
And then, Dean was just on fire with the one-liners this episode, both hilarious and heartfelt. The call back to Team Free Will, the "kick his feathered ass", and especially when Sam brought up Gadreel, and he was like "The psycho angel who took your body for a test drive?". Just perfectly on brand for him lol. With the Gadreel thing it is even funnier because, Sir, that was entirely on you lol. But you always know when the Winchesters are over an issue between them, because Dean can turn it into a joke lol.
Overall, just a hauntingly well done episode. Can't wait for your reactions to the rest of this season!
