[Step-By-Step] Vellum Abstract Fun

Heyyyya! Alrighty so this one came unexpected haha. At first, I just wanted to explore some vellum rubber stretch like Phillip Pavlov did here. Then, wanted to add some rbd to tense the bands. Then felt like the vase is empty and added inflated softbody inside and well, here we go :D Super fun tutorial, but if you are a beginner, make sure you follow the parameters for the vellum, i spent 3 days finding the perfect combos of stiffness and bend :)

hey nick! on my 2th dop net I configured just like yours but my collider do not explode on the sim :/ what am I doing wrong?

Oh, i didn't know you can use vellum source in sop, thats cool! Thank you!

Nick Medukha

hey nick, it works the same both in dop net and in vellum solver in sop, as you can use the vellum source in both; in the end it's just a matter of preferences, i guess

Hey James! Vellum source generating excess bands is not a big deal since we are using timeshift afterwards, but if you wan't to make sure band are not generated after certain frame you can add "&& $SF<60" in the vellum source. Adding this means that we wanna emit new bands every time the frame number is divisible by ten and the current frame is not bigger than 60. You can try 60, 70, 80, depends on the number of the bands you wanna spawn. Just make sure in the vellum source your expression looks like $SF%10==0 && $SF<70

Hey im having an issue with the generation of the bands where the last band continues to generate again and again. I used the expression $SF%10==0 but the color of the box turned turquoise instead of the green, maybe this is the issue? Sorry I'm a new user.
