-Chapter 7-

[Congratulations for completing the hidden mission 'First Million']

[Reward: 1 million dollars, 10 system points, 10 attribute points, 1 skill point]

"4 million dollars, are you sure?" I said, perplexed, looking at the check.

"Yes, everything is legal since you beat me in a poker game and continued to enjoy yourself in my casino last night," he said.

I smiled and said, "I was really lucky."

He smiled, knowing that I had understood where he was coming from, and he said, "Since you are injured, I'll let you rest. Here is my private phone number. If you need anything, call me."

I nodded and then, once I heard his footsteps fading away from my room, I started dancing on my bed. I had come to Vegas just to try to get back 100,000 dollars, and I was leaving with 44 times that amount.

"HAHAHAHAHA"

"What’s making you laugh like that?" said Ryan, coming back with a coffee.

I handed my check to Ryan and then said, "Now I have no more money problems."

"Wait, why did he give you 4 million dollars?" said Ryan, shocked by the number of zeros on my check.

Even though he was also a rich kid, his family's total wealth was around 10 million dollars.

"Because I advised that guy to bet a million on me," I said with a big smile.

"A million at 40 to 1, that's 40 fucking million dollars. Damn, I should have bet on you yesterday," said Ryan, bitter about his 'loss.'

"Yeah, it's not like I didn't remind you, right?" I said, laughing.

He smiled and then said, "Man, how was I supposed to know you were going to take down that giant in one second?"

"It's okay, you'll have other chances. Did you do what I asked?"

"Yeah, perfectly. I sent an email with the fight to all the TV channels in the country titled 'The Modern David vs. Goliath Fight,' and I posted the entire fight on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter."

"I hope the web catches fire," I said.

Phone ringing

I frowned, not recognizing the number, but I still answered the call and said, "Hello?"

"Where are you?"

"Oh, hello Clarissa, how are you Clarissa? Me, yes, I'm fine, and you?"

"Stop acting stupid and tell me where you are," she said in a worried but mostly furious tone.

"Why?" I said, taking a serious tone, seeing that she wasn’t just having a tantrum.

"Turn on your TV," she said without answering my question.

I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV and asked, "Which channel?"

"Any, as long as it's a news channel," she said, becoming less and less patient.

"Yesterday, an illegal fight took place in which a true modern scene of the David vs. Goliath fight was depicted," said the TV presenter.

Following the presenter's words, the image changed, and part of my fight was shown, ending with my Tornado Kick and my roar of rage.

I smiled and said, "Don't worry, it was calculated."

"I know it was calculated because I heard that idiot Ryan yelling in the video, and I know perfectly well that you could have finished him much earlier. The reason I'm asking for your location is so I can come kill you in person," she said in a calm but relatively frightening tone.

I smiled and then said, "I'm coming back to San Diego in a few days. I love you too."

"Go fuck yourself," she said, hanging up.

It has been a week since I returned from Las Vegas, and I used this time to start building the structure of my business. I didn't need many people, but I needed people I could trust.

So I hired Ryan as my lawyer. Yes, that buffoon managed to get a law degree even with all the powder he has up his nose.

I also invited David and Jensen to join the adventure, which they both did after understanding that I would pay them each 200,000 USD per year to manage the marketing and accounting aspects of the company.

But although I decided to become a businessman and gave up my goal of becoming a UFC star, I gained enormous notoriety thanks to the David vs. Goliath affair, especially among veterans and the African American community, when my whole story magically came out in the news.

The story of a poor little discriminated African American, forced to get beaten to feed himself and kicked out of the army after earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars, went around the country in less than a day and ignited the spirit of all those who felt rejected by society.
