KineFX 101 – Pt.19: CFX: Muscles Part 2

Alongside KineFx SideFx has launched or reimagined a range of character fx tools like muscle or fur simulations or ragdolls. So we should take a look at them, starting with muscles. In this video we’re finishing the simple minimalist muscle sim, that should give you a quick overview over the system as well as a playground to easily adjust settings and see results quickly.

For a more production inspired setup, as well as tons of additional info, download the T-Rex Muscle And Tissue file by John Mariella and Jeff Wagner.

Hey Ken, if there was a simple answer to this, it would've been in the video. I struggled with this issue quite a bit before just goind that lazy route. Things that kinda worked were setting the Shape-, Bend- and Attach-Stiffness on the tissue surface layer to really low values (or even to zero!) or using finer Tet-Meshes on both the muscles and tissue.

Great stuff, can't get enough. Would of loved to hear about some "non-lazy" ways to deal with the bumps and pits on the tissue solve - if that's more iteration on the solver? tweaking tissue properties etc.
