Happy Friday Patrons!
This week we've been tweaking the lights and how they interact with the models and environment lighting. We have done a lot to utilize all the new additions we've gotten from this new Unity. They have done a lot of VR optimizations in the more recent unity version! Granted, the way Unity calculates shadows within the world has changed a lot, making it more effective at what it's doing behind the scenes to get even better-looking lighting within the game world. We've also been able to make use of post-processing we could not use before because it was not yet ready for VR. Now that it's VR ready, we can fully take advantage of all their VR optimized post-processing settings to better work with our game!
We hope to get very realistic-looking lighting on not only the models, but how they fit into the environment as well. This will be a much more immersive feel to our VR experience. We want to have our models "pop" with some good contrasting shadows that make sense with the lighting in the world.
In the second picture you will notice there's a glass box in the hallway. We've gotten far more control with glass shaders in this recent update. We've been messing around with how to get some cool looking glass for you guys, and we can't wait for you all to see that as well!
We truly thank you for your support! We hope you have a fun weekend and be safe everyone!
