By the way, Emilia Harcourt bringing up the injury of Rick Flag, Sr. And Rick Flag, Sr. saying it was a broken back is a reference to the DCU animated series Creature Commandoes S1, which confirms a few things: 1.) That Creature Commandoes S1 was the official start of the DCU, and not the Superman film. 2.) This officially confirms we have to pay attention to the animated TV Shows and Films from the DCU, because they are cannon and continuing the stories from the live action TV Shows and films. 3.) Creature Commandoes S1 does take place before Superman 4.) There will probably be more Creature Commandoes references that might come up later in future DCU projects.
