Both also have all star casts. The Poseidon Adventure stars Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelley Winters (was nominated for her performance in The Poseidon Adventure), Roddy McDowell, and Leslie Neilson. The Towering Inferno stars Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, William Holden, Faye Dunaway, Fred Astaire (was nominated for his performance in The Towering Inferno), Richard Chamberlain, Robert Vaughan, Robert Wagner, and Dabney Coleman.
