Devlog #35 Affection
The beginning of a new update cycle is upon us. The next version of Rewind (0.3.4) is tentatively scheduled for the end of January, which may seem ambitious for those of you who have been around for a while, but this is planned to be a pretty minor content update (posing, animating, and rendering scenes is the largest consumer of my time), so I'm pretty confident I can stick with it.

Devlog #34 Stiiiiill Going.
Guys. I am so sorry. I have grossly underestimated the amount of scenes that exist in this update. There are SO many. I have 3 more that aren't finished posing/animating yet and 2 that are finished and are still yet to finish rendering. I'm not even moving slowly... I finished an entire scene on Friday, but it just seems like my list of scenes that need to be made never gets shorter.
So, since I'm here, I've included some screens that give some hints at stuff. And I'll give a full list ...

I've finally normalized my daily schedule and can spend some time to make a more substantial progress update.
As you probably already know, there are currently three relationship routes possible in Rewind (more are planned, but you know...): Lani solo, Marla solo, and Lani+Marla joint. Generally speaking, the only one of those three that is really actively in the game is the Lani Solo Route and some preliminary scenes to begin the Lani+Marla Route, but all of that will be changing in th...

Ok, I'm going to copy over this quick post from Discord so that it's visible to everyone. No fancy update with screenshots for now (I'll try to get a good update completed next week).
I'm spending today trying to sort things out and remember what exactly I was trying to accomplish before summer began. I have almost all of the dungeon tent scenes finished, but there are some connecting dialogue scenes and some general housekeeping that needs to be added before I can actually ...

Devlog #32 Dungeon Tent
Whew... man, it's been a time. I just put out the newest alpha version for testing, so this is a good time to go over progress.
The Dungeon Tent is now live in the alpha build, complete with the new functionality inside of dungeons (escape, cooking, talking), and the new variations in the camping sections of the game. I'm leaving it to the testers to point out all of my many mistakes in this process, but while they're doing that I'm going to focus on making visuals for all of the new co...

(I don't really have any images to share with you guys, because I've been doing nothing but typing for the past two weeks... so I've put up an alpha shot of the Dungeon Tent build requirements... I think the visual will change, but the requirements will stay the same.)
Hi again, I'm here with the bi weekly Patreon update. The alpha of version 0.3.3 is in the hands of testers! This is a very rough version of the game minus most of the visuals, but it helps me find errors and finetune the...

Hi guys, I'm back for the bi-weekly status report!
I'm actually on schedule! Can you believe it!? Some things have taken longer than expected, but some other things that I anticipated being extremely annoying are actually pretty close to finished.
Here's the list from the last update with the current status of each item:
Event Scheduler: The scheduling logic is finished. Big old check mark, 'cause this is done. The map now calculates character location, gr...
Devlog #29 Overview and Timelines
Hi all, I fell off the wagon on the devlog train last year (after doing so well for a WHOLE two months...), but I'm going to try to make scheduled weekly updates again.
This week has been a post mortem for the previous update version; figuring out what I did well, what I did poorly, and what I should never do again because what the hell was I thinking. After that was finished, I sat down with my manager (wife) to create a realistic scope and timeline for the next release version, which ...

Update: One more update. Hopefully this is the final change on this release version.
Man, my internet had to crap out at the worst possible time...
Anyway, here's the update I've been promising for so very long. I already mentioned in the previous post largely what this update entails, so I'll skip the words and just post up the full changelog.

New version is in testing.
So, a few weeks later than planned due to illness running rampant through my house, but version 0.3.2 is now officially in alpha testing!
I do need to temper expectations on this one, though. A lot of things that people have been asking for are not here, and my list of stuff to do in the next version is huge, but I'll give you guys a quick overview of what IS coming in this release.
- The Goddess of Time has some much overdue love in the form of a series of hidden scenes, and som...
Devlog #28 Quick update on progress
As many longtime supporters are aware, it's difficult for me to work over the holiday season. Kids are out of school, family this, vacation that, yada yada. But that doesn't mean I've been doing nothing. I've been using these shorter work days to do some stuff that's needed doing for a long while.
Shockingly, things are progressing quite smoothly. Auto-battle is crossed off my list and working as intended (at least for me... it hasn't reached the testers yet), the new content for the Go...

So, I know it's taboo in this particular industry to waste update time on remaking existing assets, but I've remade some existing assets for the next release version.
I've mentioned this previously, but this next version is primarily focused on polishing existing content and adding quality of life improvements.
This includes:
- Auto battle functions
- Enemy power balancing
- Additional Cooking recipes
- Cooking effects
- Visual updates (screen transitions, UI chan...
Version 0.3.1.2 (Cats can be good bedmates) + hotfix
Well this took way longer than it should have. After some very helpful testing from Hellpwnage, Lyaruil, Krellen, irrimn, martinius, and my lovely wife (who has been coordinating this effort much better than I ever could have), it's more or less finished. Lemme tell you, if it wasn't for these guys, the testing process would have taken a month or more. They found bugs faster than I could squish them, made numerous helpful suggestions, and ended up getting the players a much better version of ...

Just a quick heads up to everyone, my kids are back in school and the next version of the game is in the capable hands of our resident alpha testers. This isn't necessarily a smooth process... there have been two version revisions over the past two days, but we're making progress.

Devlog #26 Fun with Motion Blur (& status update)
First of all, for those of you who aren't haunting the Discord server, I've had a smidge of computer trouble. Essentially, the work computer was crashing at start up (between 1 second and about 10 minutes, depending on how lucky I got). I went through the ENTIRE suite of options... fresh Windows install, RAM swaps, drive swaps, GPU swaps, power supply swaps... then I tried a new motherboard, and finally... a new CPU fixed the problems. So I'm back to work, which is great, but the entire saga ...

I've been working on skill animations and testing this past week, which makes for a less interesting preview image.
So, as many of you have already noticed, the current versions of Rewind do not include any animations for player skills (and most of them just don't work at all). I committed to having all previously available skills 100% working in this next version, and it's going pretty well... I needed to rewrite a lot of the battle code to make room for various status effects and indi...
