He's far too powerful, so you have to find ways to remove him, which becomes a deus ex machina in its own right. It's a really big problem, but the way this handles it just about works. Honestly, Henry Cavill's Superman in Man of Steel is peak superman, I'm with Chris Nolan on how good that movie is, there'll never be another Superman with that sort of weight, they might as well just retire the character, like they should have done with Joker after Heath Ledger passed away - everything you do is going to be compared to it, and you'll always come out inferior.

They put James Gunn in charge to reboot it because he really saved the DCU with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1, and he is off to a great start with Creature Commandoes Season 1 which is on Max.
