2024-03-20 09:37:32 +0000 UTCthis is one of those modern myths about bathing in Europe/England, they did take baths, in fact it was quite comment with many bath houses existing, strangely enough it was after the 1600 that bath houses went into decline as before this both men and woman shared the same bath houses and the church decided this could lead to sin so there was a decline in them which lead to many people just having a bath a home, this is where the myth came from the decline in bath houses that people did not bathe which then got exaggerated
