Kendal's berating behaviour at the beginning was indicative of him turning into an on command watchdog/asshole for his dad. Just like how Logan likes to keep him. You can see his expression change as we saw at the beginning of S01 he's kind of what they say in toxic corporate a "soft" CEO. (Look at Roman's expression when he sees Kendall go like a trained dog) Both Shiv and Roman have been noticing from the beginning of S02 that something is changed. Kendal's gone into this subservient mode and as siblings they deep down no he's done something wrong and Logan's leveraging it. Coz that's all of their lives and relationships with their father.
