2023-11-16 00:18:25 +0000 UTCOne word came to mind as I listened to this at work. "Rollergator". Yes, I am a sad, damaged little man. But that's beside the point. It's a roller-skating movie with a tiny, purple, talking alligator. Also, it's the worst martial arts movie EVER. It features Ninja and Karate masters who make Steven Segal look like Steven Segal thinks Steven Segal looks. And at some points it thinks it's a campy kids movie? And then has a serious message? And it looks like at some point it might have been written as an 80's Teen Sex Comedy?!? But now it's none of those things and all of those things and somehow worse than any of those things?!?!? Anyway, it's weird, magical, awful, and includes a Karate-themed side-hero who was clearly the worst yellowbelt in her Karate class held in the failing dance studio at the stripmall closest to where they were filming when the coke really kicked in and someone yelled "WE NEED KARATE!!!!!!". I know I'm going on about this, and that Karate Vs. Ninja is just a sub-plot, but I've never been better at Karate than somebody before, it's a strange new feeling, and I'm kind of enjoying it.
