But that is ok, I have to take a stance. π¬π However silly and light it might be, we should say no to anything that promotes outright sexism to casual sexism. Bollywood has made a business out of projecting women as objects of desire. The issue with this is, it is not just consumed by adults, but these are consumed by children's in a family setup, who are brought up believing that this is how world sees and appreciates women. Which means girls will think their body matters the most and boys will think women is worth their looks/body. With that I would say you should take a stance and not react to any item numbers. (which has nothing to do with narrative of the story. item number in "Dirty picture" is in place). There are tonnes of things that are worth reacting to than this garbage that is not doing any good in the way society perceives women. I rest my case. π

2018-10-31 08:32:15 +0000 UTCHi Jaby, Achara, What do you guys have to say about objectification of women in bollywood movies, especially with force fitted item numbers? π¬ The character might not be a dancer nor the movie script requires them to dance, but yet scantily-clad women will be seen dancing. π I have stopped watching bollywood movies with item numbers. We do not have cable TV at home (since my son was 3 years old, now he is 16). He and his sister were saved from all the garbage out there. Also, any view on blechdel test? How many hindi movies do you think will clear it? π Please answer these here or perhaps in an AMA session. :)

2018-10-22 10:46:23 +0000 UTCThe song is anyways short but I think you have picked a link of video which was used as promotion before the release of the movie. Hence, heavily edited and with some movie sequences. The full video was released later after the movie released.

Usually the songs that release before the movie get more views than the full versions. So u hv to look for the video which says full version. Thanks for reacting π..I like this song because it is sung by one of my favourite female Indian singer.
