Just like with Fruits Basket it's very closer to life than fantasy but surprisingly it's not a shojo! It's a shonen! Very unlike a typical shonen but still as good.

(That being said, I love how you said that the first opening didn't give any spoilers if you're going in blind. That's completely true. It also tells the entire plot of the show if you dissect it enough lol)
