about Patreon's recent payment issues
Added 2023-08-08 20:39:54 +0000 UTChi! at the beggining of August, it seems like many cards were denied for patrons of many creators, causing subscriptions to be cancelled against supporter's wishes. Luckily, i seem to have not been affected as far as i can tell, but heard that a lot of creators noticed a drastic loss on patrons after the issue, and i have also received an official email contact from Patreon apologizing for the instability.
- in case you were subscribed to me and have lost access to my posts this month, please check your Payment Method and Billing History at Settings to make sure Patreon hasn't declined your card this month.
- please make sure to check your subscriptions to other creators as well! you might need to subscribe again or try a different payment method if you were affected by the issue.

2023-08-09 12:42:47 +0000 UTCthis was happening to me almost every month actually. thankfully it was as easy as manually retrying the charge again, but still, sounds like patreon needs to get themselves sorted 🙄

2023-08-08 21:58:47 +0000 UTCNo, I had that issue, I had plenty of money but it kept declining the payment and I didn't know why. I think I read somewhere that it may be due to some bug making banks see the purchase attempt as fraudulent and automatically decline them, but I don't know how true that is? Still, I was able to fix it by just linking my PayPal and paying that way.
