Outlander 3x08 - "First Wife" FULL REACTION

Comments

Laoghaire is evil. Claire was family to Jenny/Ian who never received a letter from Claire. From Jenny's perspective, Claire could have sent at least one letter. Jamie/Claire telling Jenny the truth would be a big mistake. Jenny could not comprehend. Jenny would not believe. Would make the situation worse to tell Jenny the truth. Claire said it was a mistake for her to return.

This!!!! This reaction was a 10/10 top tier reaction complete with choking on your coffee and that epic 4min rant!!! I'm so glad I decided to go back and watch all of your Outlander reactions to date 😂😂😂. This was pure gold!! You really were not here for any of that second marriage drama lolol

Max

Yeah...maybe he was for what...5 minutes ? ahaha I remembered hated her so much more (if it's even possible) on that moment...

Nessie- Je lis, et alors

"He's MY husband now" SHUT UP LAOGHAIRE🤬

Marie-Ève Vignon

Omg did I really say that back then?? I don't even remember thinking it hahahahah it's almost like I wanted to forget about her forever🤣 I was 95% sure it would be Mary or some other woman but NOT LAOGHAIRE!!! like I said that's the worst thing that could happen grrrrr and the way she was going off on her calling her names not even two seconds after walking in... traumatizing lol

Claire can't tell everyone about the future . They would think she was into witchcraft . Secrets don't stay secrets here. Claire always gets into trouble so somebody she makes mad would tell on her to get her in trouble . She been really lucky so far. Frank felt this same pain when he found out about Jamie . I didn't like that they killed of his character .

Damn… I don’t like the changes they’ve made to the comments section. I can’t save my edited comment. I was so pissed that Jamie married her. I remember in S3 E2 when he was living in the cave and the Redcoats almost caught him holding Young Ian as a baby, he told Jenny he would never marry again, but when he told Claire the story and they showed the flashback, I could see why Jamie married Laoghaire. Like he said, he wanted to be a father since he wasn’t able to be one for Brianna or Willie and he wanted the family he couldn’t have with Claire, but he quickly realized it was a terrible idea.

Hey Evie, the look on your face when you chocked on your coffee and paused the show as Laoghaire walked in was PRICELESS!! The first time I watched this I accidentally played the next episode before watching this one and saw the “previously on” and about had a heart attack when I saw that Laoghaire was his wife. I’m actually surprised you didn’t catch this. Way back in season 1 when Claire told him the truth and he took her to the stones so she could go home, you said… Watch Claire will go and then come back and Jamie will be married to Laoghaire and I said that’s exactly right!! I have to say that I was upset with Jenny in this episode. I don’t care that she had trust issues. She didn’t give Jamie time to tell Claire himself and then Claire got blindsided. Jamie was just about to tell Claire the truth when they all came in the room. If Jenny would’ve just let Jamie tell Claire and stayed out of it, Jamie wouldn’t have been shot and Young Ian wouldn’t have been taken. There, I said it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Going back a bit though, the few minutes when Jamie and Claire were talking before they came in are some of my favorite. Claire telling Jamie about pretending the birds were him and Jamie telling Claire about those birds who mate for life. Such a sweet moment that got shit smacked. I’m glad you noticed Jamie’s hair. I’m not sure if you saw my last comments, but the episodes were filmed out of order and Sam cut his hair and in the last couple episodes he was wearing a wig. The last time he had “this” hair was the episode when he was in prison. Evie, we all like Young Ian 😊 The adventure continues!!

Your reaction and your face when you saw Laoghaire was PRICELESS !!! I KNEW you would react like this...I was SCREAMING the first time ! The feeling is still very....well it's Laoghaire...^^Can't wait for you to discover the new adventures of our favorite couple...and there is a lot coming ;) This show is just sooooo much ! We can be pissed off, sad and happy within 2 minutes ;) xx

I haven't even hit "play" and I'm already smiling at Evie's reaction. Can you believe we haven't even TOLD you YET?!! We all knew but we all kept thinking "OMG I can't wait to see Evie's reaction to THIS returning character! :)

Kimberly Graham

'Yes,' the Murray children and grand children are many more than Evie would first believe. And 'Yes,' Young Ian was the newborn Jamie held when the Red Coats came after the gun shot. And the most important 'Yes,' was to the hole Evie sees in the lie told to Jenny. And then... the knowing smile that slips from Evie's face when Jamie explains that being leader at the prison meant he had to go back to endure the bondage and her tear at his story of the hunting Graylock pairs. AND OH MOST DEFINITELY THEN... YES! to the BEST CHOKE-STARE-SCREAM-GASP "NO... LAOGHAIRE????" -then- IMMEDIATELY FAMOUS FOUR MINUTE RANT in reaction video HISTORY!!! (I love me an Evie reaction, but this was an off-the hook, friggin, fantastic Evie! ...and after, she was really goin' at that Starbucks!) And finally, with Jamie's declaration; "we are mated-for-life," and Young Ian's abduction... Evie in exasperation blurts out; "They're taking him... No! No! No! - Screw this episode!" And Ladies and Gentlemen First Wife IS A Great Episode, but Evie's has been a FRIGGIN' MASTERPIECE Reaction!!! My thoughts: This episode shares two of my favorite Outlander supporting characters; a brief angry return of our dear sister; Jenny, and the introduction of a new step-daughter; Marsali. But this episode also gives us back a deceitful adversary that NONE of us recall fondly; Laoghaire. Which leads to one of the most humorous-contentous Jamie-Clare fight-sex scenes ever! Which in-tun leads to the "you were a sister to me" heart-to-heart between Clare and Jenny. We also get a brief mention of, what for Clare, will become important in the future... penicillin. - - - More importantly for me, THE END OF 'FIRST WIFE,' IS THE POINT... a turning point in this epic tale from Clare's odyssey to the Fraser's epic adventures. Everyone I've known who has embarked through Outlander, fully appreciates the entire Outlander story, as do I, and I'm not sure most would even recognize any change here, but I will always hold this point in the Outlander story and everything that comes before it, as the beautiful Sassenach's strange odyssey. All of this is to say, welcome to a new set of wondrous and highly challenging adventures 'shared,' (often more accurately, 'endured') by Clare and Jamie, with an ever widening matrix of family, old and new friends and advisories, and... of course timelines of pasts, and futures (after all, this is Outlander)! So, buckle up... going forward into the rest of the 18th century, Outlander is a wild and far-ranging ride through everything you might be able to imagine, and even more, you can't!
