Yes Stefan’s humanity is still on but as klaus said the more blood more deep he goes into it its easier to let go and more difficult to go back to how he used to be. Feel so bad for him at the end there Paul has such a cute crying face 😭😭 But the way he kills Andy is so brutal and Damon really cared for her we could see it in his eyes and when he came back to his room after telling Elena that Stefan is too far gone he just breaks things and he is so disappointed because he wants Stefan to come back and as u said Damon also feels guilty because Stefan left to save Damon and he feels more bad because of that and he really loves him so he wants him back. It’s just really sad for them and Ric and Elena too :(( they all have lost so much. Tyler and Caroline were the only happy ones hahaha but the end 😒 Carol wtf

2021-06-30 15:46:04 +0000 UTCThis episode could have been called “the birthday from hell”. Lots of information are given to us. We had a taste of Stefan going off the rail in season one, of when he is on human blood, but he had a net of people as protection, that prevented him to go full blown, back then. Here he hasn’t. So Stefan is back to be Ripper Stefan, and as you seen, he didn’t built his reputation fas RIPPER or nothing, he is so high in blood that blacks out and rip people apart, than when he is finished and he is back to himself, he realise what he has done and put the body part back together out of guilt and shame. In this case he is not totally off the rail, he hasn’t switched his humanity off, he is putting up a show for Klaus benefit, to protect Elena form being discovered to be alive. Still, he doesn't have to rip people apart and killing Andi was quite unnecessary, Elena doesn’t have any close relationship with her, so her death is not going to wanting her to stop searching for Stefan, and even if now Damon feels his gone, that fact will not make her stop. Even so that last Stefan's phone call is heart-breaking. Damon can’t catch a break, he is trying so hard to move on, to get distracted from being in love with Elena and first Rose now Andi, he is not allowed even to have a girlfriend. Anyway, things that needed to be memorised, and body language that is a tell-tell sign of unconscious behaviour. Damon gives Elena the neckless, again, as sign of hope for her relationship with Stefan, but that neckless is becoming something else. Stefan gave her that neckless to protect her from Damon, not as a token of their love. But is always Damon returning that neckless to her, putting it back on her neck, again for the third time. That neckless is becoming a sing of the trust they built and of his love for her. They appear in public for the first time together arm in arm as if they are each other date and when she needed a drink, she drank straight from his glass, even Alaric noticed that and made a face. Elena is very much still in love with Stefan but her relationship with Damon start to change and unconscious body language too. Alaric is not coping well, Jenna’s death hit him hard, he is clearly depressed and in need of some alone time. But now Elena and Jeremy are alone. Caroline and Tyler, finally!! They were hilarious and very cute, but then mom Carol shoot her with vervain!!!

2021-06-30 15:39:18 +0000 UTCDamon is the big brother, so he tries to do his best to protect his brother, this is one of the reasons he doesn't tell Elena. Damon, never really trashes Stefan in front of others, especially his dirty secrets, such as this Rippah aspect. He only reveals the dirty secret when it is needed. He doesn't use these matters to his advantage or for manipulation purposes. There is also a theme we have that takes place with song placement....Through out Season 1 and Season 2, there are songs that use the word Home, this season opens up with Elena that states Home is where the Heart is. Season 2 Episode 1 ends with the song Come Home as mentioned previously. Then there is the songs that use the Ocean as one it's primary words choices. Season 2 Episode 8 Ocean Wide plays, and now at the end of this Episode, A Drop in the Ocean. The linking of the songs and the themes of them is something I just picked up on and it's a creative and amazing way of them connecting things as well. Great reaction as always, looking forward to next episode, and really looking forward to Episode 3 :)
