Another step complete in the recording of Falling! All of the guitar parts are done for the full song, including bass! Yay!
The balancing is not quite right. The lead needs to come up a bit and the main rhythm guitars definitely need to come down, but at least they're recorded! I'm also contemplating an additional guitar part for the final chorus, just to give it a boost for the finale, but let's see.
Next step is drums! I'm actually hoping to set aside some time at a recording st...

This is a further WIP recording all the way up to the bridge. There's a bum note in the lead guitar in the second chorus, which I'll obviously have to fix. And I'm going to change the bridge, so the first two bars are just the clean guitar. It'll then build with the climbing distorted guitars - probably the higher one first then the lower one, which would take it to the end of the bridge. Right now, it's far too in your face from the very start of the bridge. There's no upward movement at all...

I've lost my voice AGAIN, due to getting sick AGAIN. Having a toddler has many challenges, one of which being the cycle of illness that goes through everyone in first year or so of pre-school/school. Hoping the warm weather slows that all down for everyone, especially for her.
In any event, I used some time to work on getting started on a recording for Falling. It's always fun coming up with the additional guitar parts and seeing how they come together. This is what I've got so far wit...

BAAAALLLSS. I am so immature. I don't know why I clicked record right in the midst of randomly saying balls.
Anyway... This was written for a Twitch songwriters event where the song was based on a prompt word. As you can probably guess, that word was Disbelief. I've already adjusted the lyrics since, but the structure is still the same. I'll likely pick a different song title as well. At the point of this recording, we were clearly still working on how to end. Also, apologies for the ho...

This is a song I wrote a few years ago and I made this recording as a way to document the song, so I wouldn't forget it. Good thing I did because we stopped streaming shortly after due to my pregnancy and complications stemming from it and I hadn't played it in years. It was also a way for me to get a sense of how the guitar sounded and make any changes necessary. I completely messed up the bridge at first in this recording because I had changed the timing and feel of it, but I definitel...

Another set of WIP lyrics. These were written after hearing news stories of ICE agents trying to gain access to elementary schools and teachers having to stand up to them to turn them away. It is terrifying the extent to which ICE and the US government is going to fulfil their promise of mass deportations. To raid elementary schools is so incredibly low.
There is a significant suspension of due process and rights in the name of mass deportation and it happened so quickly after Trump wa...

This is a set of lyrics to which we do not have the music composed yet. They are obviously in reference to what is currently occurring in Gaza. The UN Special Committee as well as numerous independent human rights organizations (including Amnesty International) have labelled what is happening in Gaza a g*n*c*de and yet, very little real action has been taken.
I have an idea for a guitar hook and what will likely be the riff for the verses, but it's nowhere near complete. I wrote these...

YAY! Safe Haven WIP is now available. No vocals recorded yet and it's not mixed, but it's a good start!
I added something to the bridge that I thought sounded pretty cool. Nothing too fancy, but the heavy reverb really adds an eerie sort of feel, which is cool.
Anyway, enjoy! I hope to have more instrumentals completed and then we'll start laying down some vocals.

I think I've gotten the instrumental part down for this song, except for the second half of that solo. I'll probably have to re-record that.
This is a rough mix. It still needs to be mixed, equalized and balanced and I have to clean up the random noises, but I think it's decent progress!!
The plan to record a whole bunch of instrumentals for a number of originals and then lay down the vocals for all of them. Once that is done I can do all the mixing and equalizing. Hop...

This was a test video of an idea I had for a lyric video for Call it Revenge. I think I may use it to have something accessible on YouTube for this song.
The final version will likely have more scratchy doodles. I just need to come up with more ideas than a circle and a pointy stick.
Hopefully something presentable can be created soon!!

You can download all the originals that are currently recording. Forbidden Looks is unreleased and will probably be released in due time.
The songs recorded by my old band, The Diction, I will likely adjust the equalization and will add a few parts for a re-release. But for now, here are all the recordings. Enjoy!

I've laid down the basic instrumentals for two verses, a bridge and chorus. Hopefully I will have the remainder of the instrumentals done shortly and then will be able to add on the vocals.
This is before any sort of mixing or automation. A lot of work still needs to be done with balancing and dynamics. But it's getting there.
I'm very excited to eventually share the vocals with everyone! I do love the way this song's vocal melody progresses.
I recorded this usin...

Hello Fans!
The music video for the song "Mother" was finally posted and was it a doozy to make. I wanted to give you all a behind the scenes look at how it was done.
The whole video was shot and edited using a Galaxy S10 Plus. We used the Stop Motion Studio app, which is a very handy tool. It organizes the shots in chronological order and any bum shots can easily be deleted from the list of photos. Then the different clips were pieced together with the InShot app. It was al...
