Replacing clothes with skins

Hey guys. Sorry for taking a while to post. As I said earlier, I started dressing the characters, and some complications needed to be resolved.

When proposing a game where most of the characters will be naked at some point, the mechanics of the clothes become a big challenge. My first idea was simply the most intuitive one, to create the clothes in separate objects to be attached to the skeleton on top of the skin so I can have the clothing fully modular.

I spent a lot of time trying to work out the problems with this clothing system. The worst is clipping skin, which is harder to fix due to bouncing boobs and ass.

In the Not Related demo, when Maw does the tongue lasso trick, I had to create five different models for her top, each model interacting with her body differently. The body needs to receive different configurations every time the clothes change.

In a normal game, clothing is not separate from the skin, so any details of the clothing's interaction with the body can be defined beforehand. I came to the conclusion that doing it this way could simplify and solve the problems with the clothes, as long as I create a system capable of attaching the skins to the skeleton without lag and without interrupting the animation.

Here are the skins I made for Chloe. All necessary dynamics, such as  moving parts and collision points, are already configured in the skin.  Now I just need to test the system I created in real-time. You can check my test in the video below.

This test was done in the editor, so it's normal for lag while messing with the settings behind the scenes, but the skin change happens without any drop in performance, and the animation and movement of the hair, breasts, and skirt work as they should.

During these last steps, I accumulated some polishing that needs to be done, on the scenery, on the textures of some characters, and now on the clothes. I intend to resolve this as much as possible before the start of next month. I'll try to remember to post some of the results on Discord.

Thank you very much!

Thanks! Your feedback means a lot to me and motivates me to continue improving my work. Regarding your question about outfit customization, I'd like to implement this but haven't decided how yet. I think it should be something meaningful to the player and not just a grinding element. Anyway, I have the suggestion noted for later versions. As for the music, yes, I "composed" almost the entire soundtrack using LMMS and some Lofi tutorials. I'm glad you enjoyed it! The song of Nicole playing the guitar was supposed to be the same theme that is played when Brendon and Nicole have a moment, but I failed to do a guitar version of this melody. I've purchased other software and several plugins that I plan to use not only to enhance these songs but to create variations. For instance, the moments Misty suggests naughty things, I wanted to hear her melody in a sax sound. It's also going to take time because I need to learn the new software first. The animation for this video I bought at Unity Store. I like using it to test girls because it shakes the tits and ass a lot 😋. Within the game, there is a variation of animations that I made from scratch, some that I customized, some that I got from Mixamo, and quite a few that I bought from the Unity Store. Sex animations are not available anywhere, so these are all made by me from scratch.

Hello, I'm speechless at your work! You deserve a lot of respect for this. I think you managed the hair and clothing collisions better than in the various versions already published. Even though it's not the game, we can clearly see what it's like. I'd also like to congratulate you on the wide range of outfits you've created. It's just amazing, because a lot of games don't dare to play with outfits. I don't know if you're planning to put in a system for changing outfits as a reward at some point in the game, but I hope you've thought about valuing your work. I've been wanting to tell you about it for a while now, but I keep forgetting. I know you did the musical theme for the menu: just great, I love the style and above all it shows your creativity and the range of talent you have! As for the animation, I don't know if you did it yourself or if you used an existing script. If it's you, I have to say bravo. Otherwise I like the choice, which fits the character well. I'll keep an eye on discord to see your work. Take care! (And you told us that you would post without any real date, so there's no need to apologize).
