For me, the mother was almost as bad as the father. Neither cared for his well being. His mother left them both and she never checked on his well being, on how he was doing, on why he was in a fight but her ex husband didn't tell her. The fact that he could only come to her house when her current husband was going to be gone says everything we need to know about her character. She got a redo with her new family and she wasn't going to let her old one "ruin" that image. She was so deluded, she felt she was doing what she was supposed to by Hirakawa. So for me, her neglect was almost as bad as his father's abuse.

2025-03-20 01:57:26 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you have these feelings about the mother. Whether or not she knows about the abuse, she is still a super neglectful mother. She only invites him around because her husband is out of town. That should never be the case. I feel like deep down she knows the truth but is choosing to remain willfully ignorant.
