DiBS 0.3.8 Progress Log - Levels and Krita

Cafe (Blockout)

Here's a blockout of the cafe easter egg from the previous log! 

This level has a very different color palette than I'm used to, so would like to start early to figure out how it should look. 

Woof Krita Tests

Been figuring out krita for most of the month. Krita 5 was released with new shiny animation and QoL features, so wanted to try its workflow and see if it doesn't have as many problems as my last workflow. Would love to make more animations again.

Oh, and the levels were also made in Krita!

Boss Sketch

Considering it's level drafting, might as well make a quick mockup of the boss. 

Something I've liked are choices even before a boss fight. Would be a neat surprise to see the boss just chilling with a newspaper, with the option to send him back to the planet or punt him with the blaster. If you punt him, it'd start a traditional boss fight.

Yep! He'll follow the same interactions as Kobould and wolf. Really like reoccurring mechanics in games and generally going, "what the heck does she want"

It's probably because the chairs don't have a backrest, which is why it doesn't feel like a cafe. Didn't notice such a small detail would change the whole look. Personally don't see that interactable in the game.

the cafe looks more like a bar in all honesty and speaking about a bar how about adding in interactable items like maybe getting alcohol that throws off your aim or makes you move slower cause you're stumbling around cus drunk
