Arbitrary bonus game poll, yay!

Sometimes I do bonus polls that aren't Patreon-nominated because I have decision paralysis. Last time Back to the Dawn won, although it doesn't look like that anymore because I didn't give the poll and end time and more people showed up to vote later lol

Anyway, we just finished the first draft of our game jam visual novel for NovemBuck, so I'm a bit more free to get back to doing my day job. I've just been kinda treading water and recording a few episodes of Clair Obscur here and there, when I'm not exhausted from writing all day. But now it's time to get back to it!

So here's a poll that's a weird mix of follow-ups to existing playthroughs, a new release I've been hearing about, and the two leading games from the previous poll. Check all that apply.

-

The Alters (from the creators of This War of Mine and Frost Punk)

"Explore an emotional sci-fi game with a unique blend of survival, adventure, and base-building elements. Help Jan Dolski, the sole survivor of an ill-fated space expedition, create alternative versions of himself to escape a hostile planet and tackle personal turmoils with this unconventional crew."

Back to the Dawn: Bob Route

I beat the game and got a bunch of endings, but in true Pathologic style there's a whole second character you can play as in this mechanically-dense RPG. I figure I'd end up having a much greater emphasis on combat this time around.

Dispatch

"Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy where choices matter. Manage a dysfunctional team of misfit heroes and strategize who to send to emergencies around the city, all while balancing office politics, personal relationships, and your own quest to become a hero. All episodes out now!"

Pacific Drive: Whispers in the Woods

"Return to the Zone and witness the rise of a group of Anomaly-obsessed fanatics in this terrifying new expansion to Pacific Drive. Whispers in the Woods is a brand new story for you and your trusty station wagon. Available at any point after the first few hours of the game, this expansion takes you deep within a new and mysterious part of the Olympic Exclusion Zone’s forests.  Marked with strange symbols and effigies, these woods are filled with new dangers and mysteries to uncover. Find and experience the power of Artifacts, each adding bizarre and inexplicable new effects."

The Roottrees are Dead

"A genealogical mystery straight out of 1998. Scour the early Internet for clues, uncover hidden connections, and piece together the family tree behind the secretive Roottree Corporation."

Silent Hill F (Additional Endings)

I've finished my first playthrough of Silent Hill f, but the game is clearly designed to be played multiple times for the full context of wtf is going on in here.

Comments

I just finished The Eternal Cylinder, and I could have sworn that I saw a playlist of it on Keith‘s channel. That was half of why I played it myself! Did you consider playing it but didn‘t? I feel like it might be your style - it‘s a super weird mix of gameplay styles, best I can describe it is Spore plus Shadow of the Colossus in a non-backtracking metroidvania with roguelike-style level generation but no loss on death, and wild level & enemy designs.

Nikki

The fact that the one i wanted the most was the least voted lol But it's okay since i wanted to check dispatch too

Twilight

Welp, I am certainly hoping for more SHf endings. That game is currently unclear.

Guy McPerson

Loved BttD, but any game from the developers of Frostpunk and This War of Mine has my immediate attention (and I believe the latter game is how I first came across your channel way back when). Unrelated, but I just finished Lies of P and Overture and fell in love with the game. Can't wait to see you play Overture, that DLC has so much heart and I feel like you'll love it, too.
