Hey everyone, the month is half over so I figured I'd check in with our WIP build of my visual novel, which I'm working on all month for a game jam.
This build has the full story (though I'm planning more revisions) along with temporary and/or incomplete art and music.
It's a zip file you'll need to extract on your end, and there's a decent chance your antivirus will be weird about it.

Left my thoughts for the text on the last one, so will be briefer here. It is really coming together. Even as it is now, it is a gripping experience. Phwog's doing a great job with the CGs. Charlie's CG right before the Fight I bet will look great and Edgar's might be the best in the novel, sorry Val. Nomi seems like she has the least, and this is a WIP so there is that, but I think it works narratively too. She just wants to be Forgotten, so she probably wouldn't want a CG memorializing her ending. Speaking of ending, not sure if it is because I did Val's last or it is coded to his ending right now, but the transition to the globe was wonderful. Probably slots in best there for the visuals or in Nomi's because it is like you're remembering something you had forgotten. Have to say that the sky is amazing. Know the text describes it as streaks and whirls, but it is so vivid and captured beautifully. Feels like one part the Shimmer from Annihilation and one part TV static with how it is layered. Gives a good eerie vibe of future unpleasantness and it just saturating the outside CGs is a nice touch. Not really anything to do with the novel itself, but with the music in the lobby and this being called Since November, I had Wake Me Up When September Ends stuck in my head the whole time I was reading through this.
