Questions from Patreon Part 101 - Why I Make Started Making Videos

Oops it's twice as long as I meant for it to be.

-

Questions:

Syph: What’s your favorite type of tea?

Nikki: Skip this if it‘s too loaded or personal, but have you ever considered leaving the country because of the sociopolitical landscape, and how serious was that thought? (I have a friend who fled to germany because US health care was literally killing her.)

everyeve: Favorite music artists/bands in no particular order?

August Gilmore: Why did you start making videos?

[big tangent time]

No: Left handed or right handed or left handed?

Incorgnito Mode: What’s your biggest guilty pleasure media wise (something you know is critically awful but you really, really like for some reason).

Questions from Patreon Part 101 - Why I Make Started Making Videos

Comments

You had mentioned in the past that you were interested in making video games before you pivoted into your channel. Do you feel like this is something you'd ever want to explore again?

Flora

Have you watched any cartoons recently? If so, which ones are your favourites?

Rogue

Two things: Question: building upon your tangent’s point of “making your hobbies mandatory changes your view on the hobby”, have you ever disliked doing this as your job for any particular reason? In regards to the last bits of answering the last question: I 100% relate to the mental paralysis that comes after planning something out and then the whole plan falling flat because the brain just goes “no” because it’s not in the context of it being something that you HAVE to do. Hoping that you’ll be able to get an actual answer to the ADHD question, cuz it sounds like what it is.

An Icy Bean

If you could remove 1 thing from your job (either automate it away or someone else doing it) what would it be?

Notes from the other side of the screen. As an anonymous YouTube user maybe some notes could add data points. -I discovered your Adastra essay when YT served it to me in the middle of kitten / Polynesian Music / Furry & Bara artist videos. -Your Let’s Play / Let’s Try channel is basically a public service for those of us whose last game was Pong. Later the tutorial level of Nii No Kuni where I died in the same spot every single time - zero learning curve. So we do not typically play video games at all. -Based on Let’s Play, I’ve been through Adastra complete, Route 65, partial Echo, partial Arches. Brian scenes kind of put me off so I have to watch in chunks. -Podcasts; you may worry about repeating yourself thematically but I have re-listened to DC99 Critical Look At Indigo Park probably 8-10 times so far. That podcast is specifically why I pledged on Patreon by the way. The times when I skip or stop a video could be the simplest reason in the world; not having [3 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, etc] to commit to viewing. Because I have not had access to my YT account going back to Netscape Navigator days, “liking” and “subscribing” are not part of my viewing, but I hope YT still tracks views / pauses / resume views. Also, having a meta sense of humor in content is OK- the “Toaster we can hear everything” or Stephanie & Kiki moments are nice palette cleansers.
