The Class 1 power variant of the BE Meyers MAWL was released today and I can finally start talking about em. In short, they are competitive with restricted, Class 3 lasers thanks to smart engineering and design which wrings the most usability out of it, while staying within Class 1 classification by the FDA.
It's a huuuuge increase in capability for civilian night vision users, and getting to see its performance side by side with the MAWL-DA and other restricted lasers... I was very impressed.
Most other Class 1 lasers are basically toys. So while people are complaining about the $2500 price on the MAWL-C1+, it blows away competing, Class 3 laers easily, and just curb stomps $1300 Class 1 lasers and makes em look like toys.
