Need advice!

hi all patrons! So, I have a bit of a dilemma...

I've been working on this project for a while now, and have been in contact with the original writer/creator (Frooh) about all the progress. Here's the thing; i havent heard from him since February (2019). I've still been sending progress updates, but there's been no response. At first, it wasnt worrying because sometimes I wont hear from him for a couple of months at a time. But this time TOO MUCH time has gone by without a reply. I have the rest of this current comic's script, so I'm still going to complete as planned, but i'm not sure how to move forward without hearing an approval from Frooh. its still his comic/characters, so I wouldnt feel right starting up another issue without hearing back :/

What do you guys think?

Honestly also worried at this point. like I said, i've been out of contact for 2-3 months at a time, but never 7!

My understanding is that frooh gave this series to anyone who wanted so the fact u continue to keep him included is a plus. But, I wouldn't let it slow u down. I believe u continue to try to regain the communication out of respect.

I have commissioned many comics as writer/creator and come to this problem a couple of times. some of the projects went on for 2 years plus, pages and revision came so slowly it was hard to keep focused and interested. In some, the project fizzled out because the art was going in the wrong direction or me or the artist had already moved on to another project or took on to many projects. Factors like family. kids, health, work or business holidays, gets completely in the way and project like this gets put on the back burner. I have picked up projects as a writer/creator that were left for dead or the original writer/creator went MIA. but its a little difficult because you tend to lean towards your own likes no matter how you try to stick to the original vision. also I have jumped on a incomplete project to later have 3 or 4 writer/creator involved and that usually ends with 4 different directions. I think because this is on patreon you should continue the comic till the end, then give it some time and see if the writer/creator returns. see how you feel then and continue. I think that he will return but I but who knows when? I don't know what arrangements you had with the writer/creator? Or you can press pause on this and do some other comics in the meantime. I really do enjoy these characters and story but I really enjoy your art style and will continue support even if you do some thing different.

I don't think Frooh is paying Monocle to do this comic.

My advice, stop all production for Frooh until you hear back. I have had a few clients who gave me the silent act. Unless you know your client is receiving your product and keeping their end, stop. Send an email to Frooh asking about the situation. If Frooh is serious (or realizes the work flow stopped) he will get back to you. If Frooh is upset, just say you did not want to continue without his approval. Otherwise, don't work for nothing.
