K/DA Ahri Insta-Cosplay: Selfie Photoset Preview

*Photoset available for Majesty & God Mode Tier patrons, and available for private purchase (please DM me for details).*

Since I had so much fun throwing on a bunch of pieces to play around and try out an "insta-cosplay" for once, I thought it'd be fun to share the selfies and little videos I took with YOU guys! Here's just one photo I took. :) (The selfie/mini-vid pack is in the post right above this one.)

A great perk: any of you peeps who are pledging to the Lewdsmaster tier (or higher tiers) have the opportunity to win a Polaroid selfie of this happy little insta-"cosplay" of Ahri (K/DA skin) from League of Legends. I'll announce the winner at the end of the month! :D

To expand on the "playing around with an insta-cosplay" statement:
A lot of the time I get so bogged down with the crafting aspect of cosplay, especially since I'm super detail-oriented and a perfectionist, that I end up kind of forgetting to appreciate the dressing-up part. I'm oftentimes so mentally exhausted by the time I finish an armor set that I don't have the mental bandwidth to bounce around in excitement regarding wearing it. I still completely enjoy it –don't get me wrong– but cosplay at the end of the day is about being IN a costume and having fun. Creating it by hand is just one way of going about it! This was my opportunity to force myself to just RELAX and enjoy it for what it is.

Also–because the community can sometimes be a little toxic–especially for female cosplayers, and especially online:
Cosplay is for EVERYONE. It does not exclude ANYONE, regardless of gender or nationality or skill or preference. If anything, the cosplay world exists as a sanctuary for those who may not quite fit in elsewhere, but this also doesn't mean that it isn't home as well for those who do. You could have been the prom-queen-turned-Victoria's-Secret-angel or the awkward geek who got picked on back in high school (I was the geek LOL) –you could be still living in your parent's basement, or a lawyer, or a stripper...and you are still 100% allowed to love cosplay and be a part of the community.

It also doesn't matter if you make your costumes from scratch, or buy them from China; it doesn't matter if you want to make it sexy, or be as accurate to a character as humanly possible. We can all have our preferences for what WE like cosplay to look like, but at the end of the day, we have no right to tell others how to enjoy it for themselves. Let people cosplay in the way that makes THEM happy. That's what this is about: celebrating anime/comics/games/movies/books by dressing up as our favorite characters or designs. Do NOT bully people for what they choose to wear, whether their tiddies are flapping around or their ween is scrunched up in an odd little banana-hammock, don't assume one thing or another about WHO they are (because unless you know them in person, guess what? You can't possibly know what they're like in real life), and if you reaaaaaally feel offended or upset by what they're choosing to do with their bodies or cosplay...just ignore them, lol. They're not hurting you, they're not trying to come in and ruin your life...their decisions to have fun in the way that they've chosen does not affect you. Instead, focus on the people who make stuff you like, publicly express positivity and support others, and give THEM love. Let's just all have fun with this amazing thing that brings us together and gives us joy. <3

P.S. This also applies to gaming. Gaming is for everyone, too. :)

Sincerely, the girl who's been into cosplaying, gaming, fantasy, and other geeky shizz since she was an awkward little gremlin. <3

I wish I could like this a thousand times over! There are lots of times I'm not terribly partial to the way some people like to cosplay (I think we all have our preferences, and that's ok!), BUT at the end of the day, if they're happy, then I'm happy for them, and I will ALWAYS back them up if someone's being cruel.

My sister cosplays and I've dabbled my fair share as well. Women who cosplay get insanely hassled and harassed and men get teased. It pisses me off to no end. Some cons are better than others about guarding against it, but people have zero protection online other than the support of friends, family and followers. Report and Support. Report harassment and bullying, Support cosplayers with kind words and encouragement, offer hugs but never force them. Teach your friends to do the same....Sorry for repeating, it gets me worked up.
