2B Costume Review!

I wanted to do a quick review on my 2B costume by Miccostumes. I hope my insight is helpful for anyone looking to purchase this costume. 

Note: I did not use the boot covers provided and I did not use a wig from Miccostumes.

A few basic scores before I go into detail:

Fit: 4/5 (3/5 if I had used the boot covers)

Accuracy: 4/5

Quality: 4.5/5

I purchased this costume because while I was sewing my own version my work became very hectic and I was running out of time and patience to finish it. Overall, I am very happy with this costume. I have a few gripes with it that I will go over. 

Fit: I ordered a medium based on their sizing guide and I was quite happy with it. The faux suede fabric has a bit of a stretch with made it extremely comfortable. The fingers were way too long on the gloves and I had to pull them up several times because they didn't fit firmly on my arms. I did not use the boot covers (I already had boots I intended to use) and I would not have been able to even if I had wanted. They were only slightly stretchy and for a girl with thighs like mine they just simply did not work. 

Accuracy: Since I was originally making this costume, I spent A TON of time looking at reference photos (not to mention the hours I poured into the game). At first glace, it seems fairly true to the game model but, my biggest complaint is the skirt length! The skirt length is far too short to be considered canon, and I have labeled it a 'fan service' length instead. This may or may not bother other people, but in my own opinion the skirt needed another 6 to 8 inches added to it. The blindfold did not come with the proper white stitching along the edges, something that can easily be fixed, but worth noting nonetheless. 

Quality: I have not purchased a costume since my first year cosplaying (2009) and I was extremely worried about the fabric quality and construction. If you didn't know, ordering any cosplay during that time was a huge risk, more often than not the fabrics were cheap and ugly, and nothing ever fit correctly (even with proper measurements!). This is why I was so surprised at the quality of this costume. The fabric is soft and holds a deep color black (honestly, it's better than what I was using originally). There is a bit of padding in the shoulders that confused me but in the end it didn't bother me as much as I had anticipated. The gloves were the only down fall in quality. Though they are made fairly well, the finger length is beyond average and the pleather-like fabric pales in comparison to the rest of the outfit. 

Overall, I would order another costume through Miccostumes. The delivery time was extremely quick I feel like the cost was good for the product (especially if you can get it on sale like I did ;) ).
