Full Speed Ahead
Added 2018-03-06 02:42:21 +0000 UTCTwo of last week's Pi Poll options were pretty close, and comments hinted that many people thought a Classic Pi Rant would be more fun but maybe a 4th Wall breaking video would be better for them, like eating your vegetables.
In addition, I didn't realize you could vote on more than one option but apparently you can and many people voted for both options.
So that's what we're doing! After coming back to my scripts today I thought of a way to rewrite the Classic Rant that sets up for the 4th Wall Breaking video a little better, and as the 4th Wall Breaker was the newest and least polished now I'll have more time to think it through and make it good in time for Tau Day, so it'll still be out relatively soon but even better.
I have a lot of thoughts on story and suspension of disbelief that I've been wanting to articulate, and it's good to have a timeline to do it in now.
So today I'm writing and editing some more, and I hope to start filming tomorrow. Got some fact checking to do and numbers to re-run.
I like this plan, so thank you all for helping me think through it in poll-comment form! Internet polls and comments can be used as effective tools for thinking! Sometimes!
I am also reminded of the need for fun and wholesomeness, and enjoyed making a simple light snow video over the weekend. And that I can post it on my main channel without worrying about that its not a super fancy video because I'm not beholden to numbers on there anymore. Crowdfunding is pretty cool!

I am extremely pleased that you are doing so well via Patreon - some of my other "creators" have not had the very quick growth you've experienced. 2018-03-06 19:30:17 +0000 UTCIn my dotage I like to give advice: don't let the desire to make your patrons happy and your own quest for perfection lead you to burn out! While I will enjoy both videos, they won't make your gravestone any nicer. Unless you are planning on having the gravestone engraved with a list of all your videos - then maybe they would be impressive. Unless you could make more videos slowly over a long life than quickly over a short life. If there was a vote on THAT topic I would only vote once - for "high quality, long life", rather than "high stress, short life". Not that your patrons should really be voting on your lifespan.
