Random AI Shit Loops

Hi everyone!

This week I caught a bit of a cold and couldn’t get much done. But since I don’t like being idle, I started experimenting and stumbled across some AI models that turn images into video.
And oh my lord… this thing is absolutely amazing XD.

I’m completely hooked on making these little loops with my drawings. Basically, I give the AI a reference drawing and it generates the movement. Of course, most of the time it’s terrible at figuring out exactly what you want. But since I usually make lots of extra versions of my drawings, it becomes a bit easier for the AI to understand the scene. For example, if I have image A and B, it can interpolate the movement between those two variants.

It’s wonderful, but still very rough. In practice, I have no control at all over what it does between frames. Eyes and hands usually come out glitched, and sometimes the AI loses the reference and switches the art style (in my case, from my more comic style to something realistic), which ends up looking like a freak show of twisted, mutant bodies.
And let’s not forget how heavy this thing is: I have a 3060 and it feels like it’s about to catch fire from the load XD.

Even so, it’s really fun. Especially for creating little loops of bouncing boobs, repetitive movements, squats, idle poses… and it’s thousands of times faster than doing a manual cut-out animation, where you’d have to set up the mesh, skeleton, inverse kinematics, animation, etc.

Of course, it doesn’t come close to the control and quality of manual animation, but for a quick result and just having fun, I think it’s excellent.

Lastly: what do you guys think? Are you interested in these little loops? I can’t stay 100% focused on them because I need my PC free for work, and while it’s generating, the GPU runs at 100%, to the point where I can’t even browse properly. But if you’re into it, I could bring out a lot more. I have a whole collection of drawings from as far back as 2017 just waiting to be brought to life. Maybe even some video edits with SFX to make it cooler.
