This is such a great movie. It was a play, and it has been remade. I love jury and courtroom movies. To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) and Runaway Jury (2003) are two more great movies. And you were wondering if we're ever going to find out if the kid was guilty? Well, we just did, And he's not, according to the jury. Someone generally cannot be "recharged" for a crime if they have already been tried and acquitted for that same crime, as this would violate the principle of "double jeopardy" protected by the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which prevents someone from being prosecuted twice for the same offense; however, there are rare exceptions where new evidence could lead to a retrial in certain jurisdictions depending on the specific circumstances.

Cobb (the juror who hates his son) Also, the film portrays ignorance and racial prejudice in the most effective way I've ever seen on film. IMO, the most poignant moment of the film is where Henry Fonda helps Cobb with his jacket, because he feels compassion for the man who has no relationship with his own son. its so moving!!
